The food here is fabulous! The owners procure authentic Indian spices to prepare their dishes, and they do not disappoint. We ate dinner here. I had the lamb chops, they were the best I’ve ever had for sure. My wife had one of the chicken and rice dishes, also fabulous. So many choices, all authentic Indian. The place does a brisk carry out business, but we sat and ate. The vibe is modern, with light techno music playing in the background and a projection of spinning galaxy on the ceiling. Authentic Indian ice cream for dessert was a treat. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely disappointing experience reservation made way in advance for 3:00 p.m. on a Sunday with my wife only to arrive at the restaurant and be told quite rudely that the kitchen closes at 3:00 we would not be served or seated... Not sure if this was the fault of open table or the restaurant but I can guarantee I would never dine there or rely on open table to coordinate reservations at any restaurant Fortunately Cafe Mogador was right around the corner where we were seated promptly by a friendly and welcoming staff and had a fabulous late lunch

Red Onion was a pleasant surprise, the food was fresh, tasty and nicely presented. My only complaint is that it was a bit too hot; they need to tone it down a little. I certainly plan to go back, but will ask them to make my food milder.

Varun and his family invite you into their home and serve up Authentic Indian food. Varun was informative and Attentive without being overbearing. Hearing about his family's history in the restaurant industry from the 1930s, and their commitment to freshness and Authentic Indian Spices from India were all just enhancements to some of the Most Delicious Indian food I and my dinner guest have had, and we eat a lot of Indian food. The Red Onion is a perfect b4 or after Theatre meal spot to the Public Theatre. We enJOYed the Bottomless Brunch. The food was well seasoned, however not overly spicy (as some restaurants up the heat levels to mask imperfections) and as Varun explained freshly made. So yes it might take a lil longer for the food to arrive but well worth the wait. The restaurant is cozy & beautiful. The stargazing, solar system ceiling and low volume background techno Indian music, along with the Welcome to my home vibe made for a delightful experience. I highly recommend the Garlic Naan and the Chicken Wings Rechedo. We also had the Trio Kababs and Lamb Sheekh Kababs. I could make a meal of the Garlic Naan and the TIkka Masala sauce.
