   We ate at many good restaurants during our time in Key West, but Red Shoe Island Bistro was definitely the best. Not only is it probably the best restaurant in Key West, but through my job, I've been able to travel to many of the world's leading cities and take clients to some of the best restaurants anywhere. Red Shoe Island bistro compares favorably...it's that good! The host was very friendly and inviting and the service was on point. The decor had a heavy David Bowie motif, but in an eccentrically fun way. However, the food was the star of the show. Both the fish of the day (black grouper) and the beef stroganoff were outstanding. The seared scallop deviled eggs appetizer works far better than you would think. But the desserts were absolutely sublime. I'm not a big fan of dessert, so please believe me when I say to save room! The key lime pie was excellent, but the lavender cheesecake was one of the best desserts I've ever had. I would almost make a return trip to Key West just for that cheesecake. For anyone who enjoys high quality food at a fair price without pretentiousness, make sure to visit Red Shoe Island Bistro on your visit to Key West.

   Truly exceptional dining experience in Key West. Cozy and comfortable dining space. 6 pm and 8 pm seatings make for a very enjoyable vibe. While busy getting settled, once in .... the room stays seated, all are eating at the same time, no comings and goings of patrons. Really changes the feel of a small, comfortably crowded space. The service (our server was Simon) was outstanding. Prompt, responsive, friendly, on-his-game...but neither intrusive nor constantly interrupting. Right on the timing, suggestions, and follow-up. And the food. Exceptional. Above expectations - which were high. Fresh, well-presented, and excellent flavor. Our choices: fish of the day (grouper), yellowtail snapper, seared scallops, and seafood medley with homemade pasta. All were outstanding. Hands down: best dinner on KW. As one of our guests said, 'one of her best meals ever.' High praise, indeed. Keep it up, Red Shoe.

    My husband and I just returned from our first trip to Key West. Had a very short stay and the only reservation we had was for the Red Shoe Island Bistro. We definitely chose well. The place has a great vibe, great food and great service. (And a wall dedicated to David Bowie!) It’s a bit more “refined” than a lot of what you find on Duval St, but still relaxed.
