Atmosfera affascinante

Bringing some LA vibes to the northeast. REGARDS draws inspiration from the diverse food culture of Los Angeles. We highlight flavor profiles from Japan and Mexico with the freshest of Maine produce and products.

The menu at REGARDS has bright, zippy ceviches and crudos, rich tamales, plump Argentinian shrimp tacos, along with mezcal cured hamachi collars, crab rice and grilled cabbage with caesar.

Clarified lime margaritas with eucalyptus or our gin and sotol martinis with hibiscus pair with our adventurous menu. We pour natural wine and have a large selection of curated mezcals and tequilas.

A place for us and for you. Might not make sense, but it sure is delicious. Across the street from Reny's. Nearby Maine College of Art, Portland Stage Company, State Theatre, Empire Comedy Club and Blue Jazz Club.

Taco Night at REGARDS

Regards is introducing "Taco Night" every Thursday through this fall and winter. We temporarily set aside our regular menu to creatively highlight tacos and tortilla forward dishes. A few of our classics like our crispy crab rice will still be available, but tacos are the shining stars every Thursday!

Wonderful wonderful meal!!! The scallops and tamales we had for the Valentines Day Pre-Fixe were especially jaw dropping. Excited to return in the future!

Got the Valentine’s Day prefix dinner and it was all fish except for dessert. I can understand a focus on fish for the restaurant, but if it’s literally all fish there should have been a notice about it when booking. Some courses were super spicy with no warning and not served with anything to balance it out. Besides that, levels servers and atmosphere and very creative food. Very expensive and very small portions. Didn’t leave full.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there. It was our second visit, and the food and flavors are incredible. I’d highly recommend it and we will be going back.

Great flavors, scallop ceviche, burrata and birria tacos were outstanding and sweet vibe in the room. Service was apathetic, just going through the motions.

I will be thinking about that leche de tigre in the scallop ceviche for months. Every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully plated. Our only feedback was that we would have loved a little more explanation of each dish when it was served (but we also could’ve just asked for that). We are soooo happy we popped in for dinner. Thank you!

We (party of three) went for the Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes. The food, while tasty, was served family-style but for six of the seven courses we were served the same amount of food as the party of two sitting next to us. Also, the “background” music was deafening, despite many requests to turn it down. At $85 per person, we definitely felt we did not get our money’s worth and left still feeling hungry.
