We went with another couple and everything was good and well presented except my Cacio & Pepe which was closer to macaroni and cheese than actual cacio & pepi-it was pasta smothered in a heavy cheese sauce. I will go there again but definitely order something different . We liked the atmosphere and our server was terrific.

We loved our food but the service was less than expected of a nice restaurant. We ordered a bottle of wine and they opened it away from the table and then didn’t pour our wine. We also had an 8:30 reservation not knowing that they closed at 9 but we were quickly given our check after we were finished our food. We weren’t even given the option to look at a dessert menu and it was our anniversary so that was disappointing. The door to the bar next door kept opening and loud music kept coming into the quiet ambiance of the restaurant. I won’t be coming back regardless if the food is was good or not.

My wife had the margarita pizza which was very good. The dough was exceptional. I had the Bolognese and I thought the pasta was overcooked when it should be slightly al dente and as a rule, Bolognese sauce does not have red pepper flakes in it. It was good, but not great. Nice wine list and very affordable. We also had a couple of cocktails with that were made to perfection. Ambience with the open kitchen was perfect and Jenna our server was fantastic.

Fine Dining FINALLY Comes to Mequon We’ve dined 3 times at Renard’s over the past few months—It’s now our favorite place to eat. The quality, presentation and deliciousness, not to mention service, is all first class. (Our server Jenna was wonderful.) Their pizzas are inspired. (You’ll thank me if you order the Funghi.) The salads are fresh and beautifully dressed, pasta dishes are divine. As a vegetarian I can’t attest to the meatier/seafood offerings of the menu, but I can’t imagine they would disappoint. The menu is not large, but carefully curated to please diners of varying taste. The atmosphere is charmingly understated and comfortably bistro chic. It’s both family/group friendly and first date cozy. It’s hard to find such a gem anywhere these days, and especially close to home.

Our waiter was very good! We enjoyed the food. There were two of us dining; two had the Rigatoni Bolognese and two had the Squash Ravioli. The portion of the Ravioli was skimpy and not at all filling. For the price of the meals, we feel the meals should include complementary breads and butter. It would also be nice to have a small dinner salad included or, at least, a menu option.

The sword fish was excellent! But I think it is ridiculous to charge excessively for a ravioli dish and give you four tiny ravioli!

We really enjoyed dining at Renard's Bistro and will definitely be going back. We tried 2 different pastas (Crab Fettucine, Cacio e Pepe Bucatini) a pizza (Margherita) and shared a Caesar salad. Everything was fresh and delicious and our server was great! They are located in the Foxtown Annex building, and connected to the Elevens cocktail lounge, so parking in back of the Annex is the easiest access.
