August is a Contemporary Creole restaurant creating unique dishes with a focus on Louisiana ingredients and inspired by classical training. Located in a historic 19th century French-Creole building in New Orleans’ Central Business District, the main dining room caters to the most unique dining experience. The interior is rich with original architectural details, gleaming hardwood floors, soaring columns, mahogany paneling and antique mirrors.

Dagli editor di OpenTable: August remains the flagship restaurant within the BRG Hospitality group, and it’s a grande dame dining room of New Orleans. The building rose tall in the 1830s, and the elegant space features mahogany panels and antique mirrors. The modern Creole menu offers a chef’s tasting in seven courses, from red snapper crudo to lavender panna cotta. The team also has a reputation for impeccable service, earning a couple of James Beard nominations in the past decade.

    Restaurant August presents our Chef's Tasting Menu - a journey through nine dishes to encapsulate the August experience including Fruits de Mer, Spoon Bread & Caviar, Pan-Seared Grouper, Roasted Duck Breast & Dirty Rice, Grilled A5 Wagyu, Lemon Myrtle Ice Cream, and "Root Beer Float." This menu is $185 per person excluding tax and gratuity. Enhance your meal with a thoughtful and intentional wine pairing with six courses, +$110 per person or reserve wine pairings, + $170 per person.

    An extraordinary restaurant. Friendly but unobtrusive staff. Lovely setting. Absolutely perfect duck and steak dinners.

    While the service was exceptional and the restaurant came highly recommended, I have mixed feelings about the cuisine. The flavors, particularly in certain dishes, were not quite balanced to my taste. The escargot, though well-prepared, was overwhelmed by its accompaniments - the combination of gravy, Brie, and crisped grits masked the delicate flavor of the main ingredient. Similarly, the bluefin tuna was paired with a cold, slushy acidic fruit topping that dominated rather than complemented the fish's natural taste. On a more positive note, the main courses were satisfying. Both the snapper and steak were executed well, demonstrating the kitchen's capability when working with more straightforward preparations.

    Great food and great service. We’ve tried a number of the menu items and have yet to find one that wasn’t exceptional. It is a restaurant that we turn to for special occasions as well as just a night out.

    One of the best escargot 🐌 I’ve had in my life. The service was fantastic, the waiters are well trained. The bread in this place is ridiculously delicious. Make sure you get both types. The corn bread and the flaky roll. top notch. Don’t miss !!!!!!!

    Only truly gourmet restaurant in New Orleans. There are two or three others that aren’t slightly behind only because of ambience and  service.

    The waiting staff was excellent all around. Their pace was perfect, they very kind, respectful and welcoming. The food was nothing short of amazing. I had the royal red shrimp, escargot and then finished with blackened grouper. Every dish was presented with precision and every bite’s flavor reflected that. I’ll be coming back every time I am in town.

    Quiet, well-kept surroundings. The staff are very attentive, but the real jewel of this restaurant is the cuisine: refined, fresh and harmonious. It's rare to find standards of comparable quality in the United States, even during the holidays! Being French and a member of the Italian Academy of Cuisine, I can only say, bravo!
