Announcing another exclusive Apericena wine class featuring special guest Violante Gardini Colombini, daughter of Donatella Cinelli Colombini, of Brunello’s renowned winery of the same name. A true pioneer in Tuscan wine, Donatella operates the ONLY all-female winery team—a rarity in the Italian wine landscape—and continues her family’s legacy as a Brunello master. This immersive yet approachable wine experience is designed for both enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Through a guided tasting, we’ll explore their Rosso di Montalcino, multiple vintages of Brunello and Brunello Riserva, and their exceptional Vin Santo. Violante and our wine director, Scott Thomas, will share insights into their family's winemaking philosophy, vintage variation, and the unique terroir of Montalcino. Set around our communal table, this class is about more than just tasting—it’s about conversation, discovery, and deepening your appreciation for Sangiovese. Chef Ty will prepare a light two-pasta offering, charcuterie, and dessert to complement the wines, creating a true Italian apericena experience. We are delighted to welcome one of our all-time favorite Chianti Classico producers, Querceto di Castellina, to our community table for an evening of wine and conversation. A cornerstone of the Castellina subzone, Querceto di Castellina is renowned for its exceptional Sangiovese-based wines as well as its mastery of Bordeaux varieties—all crafted with a deep commitment to sustainability. These wines have long held a place on our list for good reason. For this special evening, we are honored to host second-generation owner Jacopo di Battista, who will share the history of his iconic estate while guiding us through a tasting of six outstanding wines. The lineup includes Sangiovese-based Chianti Classico, two vintages of the renowned Chianti Classico Gran Selezione “Sei,” the elegant Rosato, and two Merlot-driven wines—“Venti” and “Podalirio”—along with the Rhône-style white blend “Livia.” As Jacopo leads us through these remarkable wines, Chef Ty will present a thoughtfully curated, Tuscan-inspired five-course menu. Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the richness of Tuscan culture.
