Our Executive Chef, Christopher Calhoun, through his extensive work experience with very high quality restaurants, has built relationships with many different farmers, who offer high quality, seasonally appropriate ingredients. This was a hard review to write. We have been staying at the Desmond for years but had never dined in Fork and Bottle except for breakfast. It was a Monday night and the dining room was not full. So noise level was excellent especially since it was reunion of sorts with our friends. Cocktails were excellent. Service was excellent. The ambiance was great in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately the food was not so great. My husband and our friend had the bacon wrapped filet which he loved. He claimed the sauce was excellent and the filet was tender. I had the shrimp and crab cake scampi - not so good. The crab cake was very flat - almost like a potato pancake (my husband thought I had ordered chicken!) and the shrimp were small and chewy. The lemon butter sauce was good the crab cake was very very mushy. For the caliber we expected from this restaurant, I was disappointed. My friend had the salmon and I don’t think she cared for that either - neither of us finished. And the food was presented was another disappointment considering what you would expect from a high end dining experience. We have attended conferences here where the food was excellent do I sm not sure if this was just an off night or what? I must add though we had breakfast the next morning here. And the breakfast did not disappoint. Coffee was excellent. Presentation was phenomenal with all the accoutrements. And the food was delicious! So kudos to Desmond for that!

Everything was perfect! And they are very attentive and conscientious about food allergies which we truly appreciated! And our server Collin was outstanding, and so cheerful and pleasant!

We love eating in the Fox & Hounds Pub! Great atmosphere! It is actually taken from a late 1800’s pub that existed in Huntington England. The food is excellent and reasonably priced!

We have eaten at the Desmond many times and ha e never been disappointed. The waitstaff, as always, was friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They always treat you like one of the family and make you feel at home.

Nicole was our server and was horrible! She gave us a dessert menu and came back approximately 15 minutes later after another server prompted her that we were sitting waiting on her. There was no apology or anything. And, she was conversing with another table. Maybe she should have waited on them instead of us.

The Fork & Bottle is a very pretty dining room and a pleasant place for dinner. A group of us had dinner there and everyone enjoyed their meals. The shrimp scampi was tasty but the angel hair pasta was overcooked and a bit mushy. I would suggest serving it with linguine instead. My husband’s veal Marsala was excellent. The problem was the service-our waitress was very slow and would often disappear for long periods of time. The restaurant was not crowded on a Thursday night so she really wasn’t that busy. This is the reason my overall rating is only 3 stars. I would probably return and hope to get better service.
