Chef Saran " Peter" Kannasute follows up behind the opening of Kyojin Sushi one year later with a brand new Thai spot that draws in tastes and aromas from Chef Peter's childhood in Thailand, where he originates. Rimtang is a Thai, street concept where not only is authentic Thai street food is delivered that introduces diners to what tastes Chef Peter grew up with but also introduces a sense of heritage and culture behind every dish on the menu. The restaurant is also managed and operated by the YHG Group. It carries the same belief that both quality of ingredients and exceptional level of hospitality service are equally important.

First ever visit. Small but smart dining area, friendly welcome & prompt service. Menu choices very good, quality of food was excellent & thankfully the portion sizes were just right….not huge.

The restaurant space is cute, intimate, very converted Georgetown rowhouse with brick and beams. Great location as well, just close and far enough off of M St. Please note that at the time of this writing, they did not yet have a liquor license. Service was lovely and friendly, enjoyed the interactions. We love Thai food, one of the world’s greatest cuisines, and some of the reasons are the respect for vegetables and the complexity of the sauces. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, but both those aspects were lacking at points. The fried calamari were perfect and the chili sauce was excellent. The fried shrimp were tempura-like and in the shell and the fried rice had succulent chunks of lump crab, but both entrees lacked any sort of vegetable and were somewhat dry. We ordered some steamed vegetables to go with it, but they were exactly that, steamed vegetables, no spice or sauce. I’d be willing to go back and give the curry a try, but there is a conspicuous overall lack of vegetables on the menu.

The food was delicious. It is authentic Thai street food. I lived in Northern Thailand. This place is legitimate. The fried calamari was intensely delicious. The chicken was superb, the noodles were perfectly cooked with a delicious sauce. I will be back a few times a week to eat lunch here. I am very grateful to be able to eat Thai food this good in Georgetown.

First time to this new, wonderful Thai restaurant and had a great meal. We had two curry entrees that were absolutely delicious with great depth of flavor and fine ingredients. Spring roll appetizer was crispy and fresh with an amazing dipping sauce. Exotic iced tea drinks were refreshing and excellent complement to the food. Great service and value too. We will be back soon!

I truly enjoyed this gem of a Thai restaurant, with its reasonably priced food, fresh and perfectly prepared - vegetables were tasty and not overcooked, the fish cake was spiced just right - this is not your typical Thai menu. Lots of options from both northern and southern Thai cuisine. I will definitely return!

We loved visiting this month-old restaurant. A great take on Thai street food! Our server was quite friendly and very helpful without being overbearing. And the food was very tasty and a good value.
