Nestled in an historic brewery building in the Village of Wauwatosa, Ristorante Bartolotta dal 1993 is the flagship restaurant in The Bartolotta Restaurants portfolio.

Conceived by The Bartolotta Restaurants co-founders, restaurateur Joe Bartolotta and his brother, Chef Paul Bartolotta, Ristorante Bartolotta dal 1993 is acclaimed for its handmade pasta and authentic Italian cuisine in a cozy, intimate setting.

Executive Chef Juan Urbieta presents the popular “Un Viaggio in Italia” menu series, highlighting a different city or region of Italy with a four-course, customizable menu that takes guests on a journey of Italy and changes monthly.

The restaurant was recently awarded the coveted Marchio Ospitalità Italiana certification of excellence by the Italian Union of Chamber of Commerce. This prestigious award honors a restaurant for its commitment to “Made in Italy” quality and authenticity.

This is a favorite place for us and a Sunday evening made it quieter than at other times. The service was excellent. This particular menu was not my favorite, but I appreciate the opportunity to taste the food of different regions. Torta Russia was especially delicious.

This was an incredible experience unlike anything else. My girlfriend and I went on a date here during a romantic weekend trip to Milwaukee, and true fine dining is something I have always looked in on from the outside and fantasized about, but had never done personally. I decided that a romantic weekend with my favorite woman would be well worthy of an opportunity to try something extravagant like this. Everything was just perfect - if there was any friction happening anywhere in the restaurant that evening in the front or back of house, it was invisible to us because it appeared as a carefully choreographed dance with an entire wait staff working in harmony to deliver an outstanding experience. Specifically, I would like to mention Jackie (Wine Director), Carissa (Front Server), Christine (Back Server), and Nicole (who brought our coffees at the end of the evening) as an outstanding team. Together with our input, they all worked together to coordinate with the kitchen a magical dinner for us that tasted simply divine. Their teamwork was a completely different service experience than I ever thought possible. We even decided to pay an incidental for a white truffle risotto, which was simply the greatest tasting thing I have ever put in my mouth, and tasted every bit as good as its price tag. (The owner, Paul, who was a very gracious man and talked to us for awhile, told us that those truffles were still in the ground in Italy mere days before being on our plate - amazing!) I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, and my girlfriend and I will most certainly be back at our earliest opportunity.

We've been to Bartolotta's in the village many times and it was just as good as always. Every course was excellent and our service was flawless.

Every dish was sublime! The ambience was European. The staff was friendly and attentive. The flavors were subtle yet strong. This is the best restaurant in the area!

How about the Best Italian Cuisine anywhere. The current menu is Un Viaggio to Veneto. Add the Alba White Truffles, 4oz to 3 courses. Do not hesitate on that. Started with CARPACCIO DI MANZO ALLA CIPRIANI, then the BIGOLI COL ANARA, then the GRIGLIATA MISTA DI CARNE, and finished with the CLASSICO TIRAMISU’ DEL RISTORANTE DAL 1993. Others had the ZUCCA IN SAOR ALLA CHIOGGIOTTA, SCHIE CON POLENTA ALLA LAGUNA VENEZIANA, Mushroom risotto (gluten free), LESSO E PEARA, TACHINELLA AL MELOGRANO (PAETA ROSTA AL MALGARAGNO), and the CONIGLIO ALLA BELLUNESE. All items were spectacular and service was white glove. Thanks so much to Chef JUAN URBIETA and front end RAUL GONZALEZ and their teams for a memorable evening.

The return of the Duck Ragu was exciting, loved the choices for Veneto region in Italy. Tony and the team did a great job!
