Mentored by Michelin-starred chef Rohit Ghai, a true connoisseur and lover of the heritage of Indian cuisine, Rivayat promises a magical experience, taking you on a journey to the very limits of Indian flavors.

Rohit Ghai’s first solo restaurant, Kutir in Chelsea, opened in late 2018, followed by the critically acclaimed Manthan in Mayfair in 2021. Rohit has worked in and run the kitchens of some of London's leading Indian restaurants, such as Benares, Trishna, Gymkhana, Hoppers and most recently, Jamavar and Bombay Bustle. He is also the first Indian chef to win a Michelin star for Jamavar within ten months of opening the restaurant and also for Gymkhana.

    Rivayat is the signature restaurant for the Oberoi in Marrakesh which has to be one of the best hotels in the area. The hotel has magnificent architecture and the surroundings to the restaurant truly spectacular. The menu reflects gourmet indian food at its best with fresh ingredients herbs and cooking The ambience and service are first class. We had the pink prawns as a starter which is one of their signature dishes and is outstanding the tandoori chicken and the sea bass main courses equally superb. A very reasonable bill at circa £190 for two people including a bottle of wine is great value.

    The ambience and decor of the hotel is breathtaking. The food was very tasty. We were having dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary & the service staff went above and beyond to make our day special right from giving us a beautiful spot for dinner, taking pictures and a wonderful complementary cake. Highly recommend!!

    My experience was lovely. I enjoyed the oberoi very much. There was a man named Hakim who welcomed us from concierge who was a very nice person. He was extremely welcoming, so polite and helpful. There was also a lady whom I don’t remember the name of helped us very much when we we were unable to read the menus properly. She handed my sister a long lamp so we could read it properly. It was a very thoughtful gesture whereby my sister and I were very greatful. Everyone was extremely lovely. So kind and very welcoming. I would recommend this place to family and friends as I am very confident they will have just as a beautiful experience me and my sister did.

    This place is magical! The ambiance can’t be matched with its stunning architecture and decor, the food is well deserving of its Michelin star, and the staff are lovely. I only wish we could return before traveling home! I can’t recommend this restaurant/hotel more.

    Service was bad. Super slow and for the price point I expected better service We had a reservation for 8:30. Got our 1st drink an hour later and had a young child that got her meal just under 2 hours after getting there
