Welcome to Roberts Scratch Kitchen. We are a fine dining continental cuisine BYOB scratch kitchen restaurant located in Totowa New Jersey. Serving lunch and dinner with daily specials, offering a full Gluten Free Menu. Our modern spacious dining room is finely detailed, cozy, and relaxing, with a trendy classy feel.
At RSK our food is made from scratch. We do not use any ready-made prepared foods. Our kitchen has no freezer. Food is purchased fresh daily. Meals are homemade in the restaurant kitchen just a few feet from where you are dining. We also ask to bare with us as it is hard to find staff and we try to keep the prices as low as possible due to the high food costs these days and also trying to find the product in these strange times. We only use top of the line high quality provisions. On weekends we have a 90 minute table time for 2 tops and 2 hour table time for larger then that on the earlier seatings.

                                                                                  I think it’s ironic that a place called a “scratch kitchen” uses frozen or premade ingredients. My pasta was so inedible I only took three bites. When I pushed it away from me the server came over and grilled me on what was wrong with it… it still appeared on the bill of course, after I didn’t eat it and refused to take it home… Also, after placing our order, another server came over hard-selling the specials… after we ordered!!! Clearly ann upsell place that didn’t like we ordered ann anppetizer and two main courses. Our reservation was for later, they called me saying the kitchen was closing early. We arrived at 830 and at the table next to us, servers were doing their prep work so they could leave, in a dining room full of tables!!! Very tacky restaurant, just there to take your money. Avoid at all costs!!!

                                                                                  Most of the meal was good but I ordered halibut and it had clearly been previously frozen as it was tough and fishy. I was there a few months ago and also ordered the halibut and encountered the same problem. I figured it was just a one off issue. I asked if it was frozen and they said no. I hate to complain and never send back my food but I might not return as I usually order fish and the halibut was inedible.

                                                                                  This restaurant is exceptional in every way. In a land of innumerable good restaurants, RSK is outstanding. The menu is fresh, innovative, and varied without being pretentious. The specials are creative and tempting. Their descriptions are complemented by beautiful photos presented tableside on a tablet. I even loved the choice of music played during dinner. The BYOB policy is icing on the cake too.

                                                                                  From beginning to end the dining experience was excellent. We were greeted by Robert and led to a private table. Our servers were attentive and described all specials and menu's perfectly. Prices of specials were not mentioned. We didn't have a problem with that, but other diners may. Every selection we chose, and there were 4 adults, were a hit!! The flavor of each dish kept you coming back for more. From appetizers, salad, entree's and desserts we walked out full and happy. Will definitely return to this Gem!!
