Seafood lovers will find a lovely haven at Rodney's Oyster House! Rodney's maritime hospitality can be found in the heart of the Beltline District in downtown Calgary. Anchored on the corner of 4th St. & 10 Ave SW in a bright and rustic room where our knowledgeable shuckers pair succulent aphrodisiacs with local beer and classic wines. Rodney's is built on a strong foundation with a singular focus - growing, sourcing, and serving some of the finest oysters from around the globe. Our classic costal menu features house made chowders, live lobster and crab, fresh mussels and scallops, shrimp, and sustainably sourced fish. Also serving locally sourced Alberta beef to vegetarian, and gluten free are readily available for the non-seafood lovers.

The location and ambiance is decent. Parking was difficult on a Saturday evening, but that's Calgary. The Clam Chowder and Oysters were the hilight. The smoked fish plate was over priced for the amount of food given, and was a disappointment. The crab soup had one shrimp in it and the crab we were told was Shredded in the soup, no crab detected, Fish Tacos were decent. A couple of the wait staff were good, ours brought the wrong wine and seemed a bit confused as to items on the menu.maybe new, so not a big deal. My recommendation would be to go for happy our, eat some oysters and have a beer for $20 or an afternoon chowder on a cold day..otherwise, too much buck and not enough bang.

Great food, good happy hour specials. The ambiance and decor is fun. The oysters were great - nice selection of sauces. I had the Fundy Scallops and loved it - good for low-carb folk. My husband had mussels and the sauce was so good I wanted to drink it! The service was fine, nothing to complain about.

Do not order the scallop sliders or it will ruin your night, they are the saddest things I’ve ever seen for an eye water price for what you get. Oysters are good though.

The restaurant was not prepared for the rush of the NYE crowd. Took us over two hours for our meals to arrive. Go for the oysters and their HH. Otherwise it was a miss for us.

The service last night was awful. Drinks forgotten, wine coming after the bill. Messing up the bill three times to come back and say you owe more.

Such a great place! The oysters are always wonderful. Cool atmosphere and awesome staff. Wished happy hour menu had less breaded/ fried items but food was good.

We had an excellent time ordered an off menu oysters Rockefeller that was delicious. Really the best I’ve had. Also had a superb old fashioned drink as well. Highly recommend

We went there with another couple for 4:30, so was able to take advantage of great happy hour prices! I would highly recommend. Shucker's choice for oysters was an east coast oyster, so of course, delicious! Love the selection of sauces and fresh horseradish they serve with the oysters. Morgan, our waiter was amazing and very attentive. Can't wait to go again soon! Thanks Rodney's!

Rodney’s Oyster House is a beautiful space and was decorated wonderfully for the holidays. The service staff were kind and welcoming. I was disappointed when they had no mussels at an oyster house. I instead opted for the cod, which I thought lacked flavour and the potatoes were undercooked. Overall, nice space, but overpriced.
