Seafood lovers will find a lovely haven at Rodney's Oyster House! Rodney's maritime hospitality can be found in the heart of the Beltline District in downtown Calgary. Anchored on the corner of 4th St. & 10 Ave SW in a bright and rustic room where our knowledgeable shuckers pair succulent aphrodisiacs with local beer and classic wines. Rodney's is built on a strong foundation with a singular focus - growing, sourcing, and serving some of the finest oysters from around the globe. Our classic costal menu features house made chowders, live lobster and crab, fresh mussels and scallops, shrimp, and sustainably sourced fish. Also serving locally sourced Alberta beef to vegetarian, and gluten free are readily available for the non-seafood lovers.

We went there with another couple for 4:30, so was able to take advantage of great happy hour prices! I would highly recommend. Shucker's choice for oysters was an east coast oyster, so of course, delicious! Love the selection of sauces and fresh horseradish they serve with the oysters. Morgan, our waiter was amazing and very attentive. Can't wait to go again soon! Thanks Rodney's!

Rodney’s Oyster House is a beautiful space and was decorated wonderfully for the holidays. The service staff were kind and welcoming. I was disappointed when they had no mussels at an oyster house. I instead opted for the cod, which I thought lacked flavour and the potatoes were undercooked. Overall, nice space, but overpriced.

Overall good food at reasonable prices. Unfortunately they had run out of mussels, which, being a seafood restaurant is a bit odd. Otherwise good

Not what we were expecting for a seafood restaurant. We wanted steak n crab but Crab was limited to a whole King Crab at $149/lb for an approximate 7lb crab or a Dungeness crab or a seafood tower. We had steak and scallops. Steak was over cooked and covered in a beef gravy type sauce and the scallops were rubbery. The Dungeness crab was decent but the oysters were amazing. Service was decent.

We always enjoy our experience at Rodney's, great food, the Appie with Pork belly and scallops should have 4 with the price point of $24.....that would be an improvement

Love the original one in Yaletown, Vancouver. This was a bit of a disappointment. Ambience was good, besides the annoyed hostesses standing around at the front. Service started out great and quickly went downhill. Oysters were fantastic, mussels and frites were decent and crab cakes were great. Caesar salad had so much garlic it was almost inedible. Scallop & pork belly appetizer was awful. The pork belly and sauce were both so burnt it was stuck to the plate and the scallops were barely seared or cooked. There was 3 tiny pieces on a plate that you could have easily fit 10, with a bunch of old radish just thrown around. Just looked cheap and tasted the same. I wouldn’t go back - at $200 for dinner with 3 drinks, there are a number of better places to go. Big Fish is so much better.

The scallops in the pasta dish were overcooked and chewy. The black cod was excellent but the baby potatoes were undercooked and bitter. The crème brule wasn’t good. There were only 2 dessert options. The pop was $5/glass, but mostly ice. The server forgot to bring the extra setting to the table so we had to take cutlery and plates from The next table. She was not well informed about the menu. We sat upstairs and the bench we sat on was not comfortable. The lighting and the noise level were appropriate but it wasn’t a busy night.

Our server was amazing. We have two people with dairy allergies and she kept double checking for us if it was safe. The food was delicious. It was so worth it.

As always Rodney’s is fun, with excellent food. There aren’t many real seafood restaurants in town, even less good ones. Rodney’s is always good.
