    Always enjoy the food at Macaroni Grill. A warning, if you make a reservation through OpenTable don't bother making any special requests or checking any of the special occasion boxes because the staff at Macaroni Grill never, never read the notes on the reservation to honor your request. We have made several reservations requesting a particular table and every time we arrive that table is occupied and the hostess says she didn't read the notes on the reservation. We always eat very early and the restaurant is mostly empty so there is no reason they couldn't reserve our table. Just putting a sign on the table would help the staff know that table is reserved. The volume of the background music was also much louder this time making conversation with your dinner partners a little difficult.

    Romano's Macaroni Grill in Aliso Viejo cheated us on our bill. The menu offered certain bottles of wine at $20, so we ordered one of them. When we received our check, they charged us $34 for that bottle of wine. When I brought the mistake to the waiter's attention, he said that the $20/bottle offer was only available if we ordered the pre fixe meal. The menu said nothing about that limitation. So we got cheated out of $14. I don't like the bait-and-switch tactics that Romano's Macaroni Grill employed or the way that the waiter handled the matter. I will not return to Romano's Macaroni Grill in Aliso Viejo.

    The line was long, but the hostesses did everything they could to get us seated and were very vocal and open in terms of how long the wait was. It was a great experience!

    The service was terrible! The waitress was so slow that I had to go up to other kitchen staff to ask for butter because she took so long to bring it. By that time the bread was already cold. My friend never got the wine that he had asked for twice, so he had to walk across the restaurant to find a bottle which he served himself. It’s an honor wine system, so all the waitress has to do is bring a bottle of wine to the table, which the customer then serves himself. The restaurant has a very open floor plan, so there is no excuse for a waitress/waiter to ignore or just not notice the customers. Although the entrees were very good, I am hesitant to return since this is the second time in a row that the service has been so bad.

    Had to send back the House Salad . The lettuce was very watery so the dressing was so diluted that one could not discern the flavor. Food was average . They must improve to stay in business . Get rid of the server writing their name on the table paper . They have been doing that for years and while novel years ago it is time for it to go .
