Rooftop in Walnut Creek offers a stunning view of Mt. Diablo while providing creatively prepared new American cuisine. Owners Jim and Jennifer Telford, along with partner and Executive Chef Justine Kelly offers guests a beautiful outdoor lounge for dining out with friends. Besides the picturesque surroundings that also showcases downtown Walnut Creek, Rooftop has a living wall with lush greenery and water features. Guests can feast on black cod wrapped in a banana leaf with pea shoots, lamb meatballs or other flavorful plates. Delicious desserts, fresh salads and bar bites will also satisfy the appetite. With mentions in publications like Diablo Magazine and California Home Design, Rooftop is a wonderful location for a business lunch or a romantic evening out with a date. Join us for a memorable weekend enjoy the best views of the city! For parties of more than six guests, a food and beverage minimum spend of $50 per person is required. On Fridays and Saturdays, we can accommodate up to 12 guests per reservation. Please note that table dining times are limited to two hours. Many of our tables are high-tops with backless chairs; if this seating arrangement doesn’t work for your group, kindly request accommodations in advance. We offer a 15-minute grace period for late arrivals. If you anticipate being more than 15 minutes late, please give us a call. Seating and location are subject to availability. A 20% service charge will be applied to your bill. We look forward to welcoming you!

My wife didn’t want a big spectacle on her 60th birthday, so we decided to have a quiet lunch at Rooftop. She ordered a salad topped with a grilled salmon. I had the sea bass with risotto, and my daughter had the spicy rigatoni with chicken. We also ordered the shrimp tacos (4 tacos). All of the dishes we ordered were delicious. The grilled salmon that came with the salad was cooked just right. The sea bass was as good as and the melted cheese in the risotto was just right and not overpowering the overall flavor of the dish. And my daughter had no complaints on the rigatoni as she cleaned up her plate. And saving the best for last was the shrimp tacos. The shrimp tasted so delicious and fresh that I wished we had more, but with all the food we had, the shrimp tacos outshined them all. And not to forget our server, (I forgot his name God bless his soul) he was very sweet and personable, with a happy demeanor. Hope they pay him well because he was very attentive to our needs. Overall, my wife’s birthday celebration, even though it wasn’t elaborate, it was a very nice experience and we will definitely will come back if we’re in the area. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazing food, excellent service. Unusual setting with views out over downtown and the distant hills. Comfortable temperature with the clear plastic awning down over the glass "balcony rail". (February). A gem!

I had a great time but the heater made my husband super hot. We didn’t know that they wasn’t serving the full menu.

We loved our time at Rooftop. It was our first time and was pleasantly surprised. We loved our appetizers especially the Burrata and the dumplings. Very tasty. The calamari although also tasty could have better batter. It was a little thick. We tried all the entries. My husband especially enjoyed the surf and turf. We also loved the ravioli with mushroom and the salmon that I ordered was perfect. My bro in law enjoyed his order if the short ribs. All gone!! Dessert was great too. We had the butter cake and the lava cake.

The restaurant had a lovely decor for Valentines Day… The service staff were so great! And the food was out of this world… oh and the Butter cake that we shared was the best ever.

I took my lady to an early valentine's date. Rainy night! Street parking is challenging, you have to use the parking garage, not too far away. When we got there the hostess set us up at a window seat which was nice except for the fact that it was storming out and the roof leaked right by our table LOL! The service staff was there in an instant and moved us accordingly. The ambiance was warm, fun, and the place is lively! And a bit loud. But the experience was worth it! Overall, we had a great time; the service was excellent, the waiter was knowledgeable-friendly and efficient (Nick). And the food was excellent! I was really delighted cus you just don't get that at many restaurants these days. I had the short ribs that were done perfectly on a bed of with ornately placed vegetables and creamy mashed potatoes. My date had a bowl of steamers and mussels with a flavorful broth, and it was sprinkled with fries...great touch! Our wine choice was their Cote du Rhone red which paired very well with the short ribs. For dessert we had their warmed chocolate cake with gelato, it was great. We will not hesitate to come back.
