                                                                                                                                                  Gilberto was our server and he was absolutely fantastic. Great with our kids 4 and 6. Easy to talk to, happy to help, made great suggestions, very polite, timely and excellent service, and also gave opportunity to review the bill ahead of time and provide tip with privacy, that is not always give at a large upscale resort like this. Honestly perfect. Food was good as expected, value pricier as to be expected at a resort.

My husband had the 1/2 chicken, also very good. Angela food cake w/ strawberries was amazing. Mojito and Bloody Mary (it was sweet) were not great. Service was good, very friendly.

                                                                                                                                                  Edgar was our server m, who we have had before, and he is excellent. This was our fourth or fifth time eating at Root over the last four years and have never had a bad meal there. Last night we had the octopus which is terrific and also the special which was swordfish. Both were cooked perfectly and with lovely flavor. We also had the chicken empanadas as an appetizer. They are good but I enjoy larger empanadas found at restaurants outside the resort. All in all, we highly recommend Roots when staying at the resort or in Rio Grande.

                                                                                                                                                  We all agreed that our meal was fantastic, but it was unfortunate that it took 2 1/2 hours for one drink and entrées only. Even though there were 10 of us, I don’t think we got a drink for 45 minutes and then waited for the check and then for him to come back for the check For at least 30 minutes at the end which always leaves a sour taste. But the food – that was all exceptional.

Low key ambience, a/c a bit too cold, music a bit too techno, and fantastic service. Overall, a really solid hotel restaurant.
