Well have awarded 1 star for each category as needed to get to this page.We didnt have an experience of dining at Rose and Crown Histon as when we turned up the place was closed,all in darkness,no explanation on door and no correspondence received as to why place was closed. On asking at burger bar in their car park it seems they had an emergency and had to go away ,but surely a text or something could have been sent.Luckily for us The Smokehouse across the road took us in,not good customer service from Rose and Crown

The staff made the family meal very enjoyable by making a fuss of the young children and an extra special dessert for the 4 year old. We will come back.

Lovely old pub, great location, good parking. Would go again, fair priced Sunday roast. Felt clean & safe.

A lot of work has gone into making the pub coronafrindly with plenty of sanitation points and a cotact tracing sysytem in place. I was sat near the main entrance and the door was open which caused a draft which was acceptable at first but caused my food to taste cold after a while. The food was correctly cooked but the roast beef was wafer thin. Service was friendly especially as I was the only customer in at midday on a Sunday. I appreciate the efforts made to meet coronavirus challenge but feel the quality of food disappointing. The beer I had was good.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all who worked Wednesday night. You looked fully booked and the lady and gentleman who took all food orders and drinks, said to each table what items were sold out and a little wait on food as busy. Fab service from them both (sorry don't know their names) wish more places would say this to all tables before ordering anything. Please keep on doing this. Carole the new chef wow amazing had the vegetable lasagna and its the best I've ever had and loved the fresh garlic on the bread. My partner had the beef burger and he said it was so good and it was a homemade patty. It was all worth the wait. All in all what fabulous service from start to finish. Keep up the hard good work. Plus you do bakewell gin which is an extra bonus. Look forward to coming back. We've booked in again. Thank you all. 😊♥️

I'm very disappointed of that evening. I booked for 7 pm and we had the table at 8.15. The waitress was rude and she didn't dress any cover mask. We order 2 starters and 2 mains. After half an hour waiting, she told us that we could't have the starters before the main, so we told her to not bring them but some crips because we were very hangry. After a while she came back saying one of the main was not available any more. It has been difficult to find something else. After more than one hour of waiting we were able to eat. The food was not bad, but not special either. The portions were very small. I will never come back again.

A great welcome by the staff at the Rose & Crown. We were shown to our table and was told there would be a "little" wait for our food. Not too long after the food arrived and was great, better than expected as we'd been told earlier that evening that the food/service was "off". We would recommend to friends as all the Covid securities were maintained. Just a thought - some of the staff looked like they'd been called in at the last minute looking scruffy and not quite ready for serving at tables.

Unfortunately we got turned away as they had failed to check their open table bookings so got turned away (or were told that we could wait in the garden - in the rain!).
