Welcome to Roy's Ka'anapali! Since opening "the original" Roy's Hawaii Kai in 1988, I have set out to explore "new directions," blending classic European cooking techniques with unique influences of Asia and the Pacific. Had a wonderful trip on Maui. We decided to go to Roy’s for my wife’s 40th. Reservation was at 3:45 on a Sunday . We were given a table mid restaurant, asked for a window and was told our party of 6 was to large ( there was two other couples in the restaurant, plenty of room to fill our simple request. Restaurant could not have been more open and empty honestly, still denied) so that was a bummer off the bat. We started our meal with WONDERFUL service from an amazing employee named Cindy. She was absolutely lovely. The restaurant seems to be extremely understaffed because Cindy had to change her uniform and became the hostess mid meal?? Yeah, it was like where did our service go because as soon as she switched job duties we were left high and dry. Drink orders never came, we watched them just sit at the bar and die a slow and unconsumed death ( I had to ask twice if they could be brought to us) another bummer, this was a $700 dollar meal with $7 service ( not Cindy… she rocked, while we had her for the 10 minutes we did). I know that they need people because I played golf at Ka’anapali two days before and the gal working the drink cart on the course was?? you guessed it Cindy.. sidebar on the golf, NO DRINKS SERVED on the drink cart only a hotdog at a course that runs $160 plus.. apparently they lost their liquor license 😂 well played everyone involved in that.. just wrapping it up quickly here, food was pretty good but definitely over priced for what is given. We had ribs, shrimp, Mac crusted local catch with really boring average totally something you can get anywhere sides, and decent but not amazing drinks.. Cindy AWESOME, Roy’s restaurant over priced and all and all just kinda a letdown for our group and my wife’s 40th.. definitely try something else in my opinion, thx aloha

We have dined at Roy's the last 3 years, each time it has been better than the last. Fish should be easy to prepare since it is on the menu a lot. We have had the Mahi Mahi, and butterfish and it could have been better, either overdone, or mushy. Very overdone, but this last visit we ordered scampi and the ono, superb!! We will be back.

Fresh, delicious food, attentive friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere. Roy’s at Kaanapali lives up to the long and storied reputation earned by Roy’s over the years.

If course good food but the lagoon no longer has any fish. Apparently a cost issue but what a disappointment

It is beyond me how this restaurant receives the higher ratings. The decor is like an informal golf restaurant - brightly lit - no tablecloths. I think the name "Roy's" has a mystique to it that brings people in. The food which is very expensive, is lackluster at best. My fish had so much salt on it I had to return it which is something I never do. The ribs had way too much sauce on them. The ONLY dish that was good was the Brussel sprouts. If you are looking for good food and a nice dining experience, this is not it. There are many other great restaurants in this price range,

Our server Cindy was attentive and fun! Food was good and a conducive environment for conversation. We had a pleasant dining experience! Hawaiian Tini definitely recommend!
