Chef Ali Mesghali"s nearly lifelong love of cooking combined with his love for Sufism brought to life for the first time in Atlanta's culinary scene the concept of Rumi's Kitchen in 2005.
At Rumi's Kitchen, Ali has been able to artfully bring together an atmosphere full of joyous energy with attentive and generous Persian hospitality along with the unforgettable unique aromas and flavors of the Persian cuisine which is truly reflective of his simple intention to bring joy and happiness to the overall dining experience of the guests. Every member of the team at Rumi's Kitchen strives in delivering the service that is demanded by such a unique intention and vision.
While Rumi's Kitchen is a Persian restaurant at its core, the menu is constantly supplemented by dishes pulling influences from other countries, keeping the cuisine at the forefront of the dining scene in Atlanta.

Allison our server was great and very knowledgeable of the menu. Food was good, we enjoyed the lamb rack, Soltani, and the koobideh. Appetizers were also really good. Thank you team Rumi’s at the Avalon location.

Rumi's Kitchen built a solid reputation based on good comfort-food and excellent service and customer care. This was earned over two decades. Unfortunately, the management’s eagerness to expand to other cities has significantly compromised the service in all Rumi’s Kitchen restaurants in Atlanta. The owner who was present most evening, is rarely seen there. We had a disastrous experience in the Avalon branch, after a few prior negative experiences at its other two branches, which have convinced us never to go back to Rumi. We were sitting outside with a few other tables when rain started to pour. They did not have proper umbrella to protect the tables and refused to move us inside, arguing that the inside tables are for other customers who may join them later and those outsides must dine in heavy rain. I've never seen such mindlessness and indifference toward customer service from any restaurant anywhere. After battling them for half an hour, one of the managers intervened and gave us a table inside provided we finish and leave in one hour. This grotesque display of insensitivity is in dark contract to the to the spirit of Rumi the legendary Persian poet who championed eternal love and peace; what a shameful rubbery of such a beloved name. We are done with this restaurant as there are many other great Persian Restaurants in Atlanta, but we hope that the owners sober up and stop taking their customers’ loyalty for granted while they pursue their profiteering expansion into other markets. Otherwise, what took them two decades to build will crumble in weeks as we have seen for many other established restaurants that were popular once but gone now.

Why does it take hostess so long to seat the party at the table? At least 10 15 tables were open when we got there. While having a reservation.

The dining experience is always terrific but today even better because we had the best server, Kelsey was outstanding !! Thx, for the spoiling us on my son’s birthday!

For a family of 5 adults, I am tired of sitting at a table for 5, while one of us hangs off the end of the table and in the path of the servers. I always feel like we are in the way. Nevermind, the table with drinks, apps, 5 dinners isn’t comfortable for anyone.

Our group of 8 enjoyed our experience as always. Food was delicious I personally think that portions are too big but I am sure many will appreciate the large portions. Our server Allison was very professional and a joy to deal with. Overall very happy with our experience.
