If you’ve never been to the Russian tea room in New York because you think it is too much of a tourist spot, think again. The ambience, the service and the food here are incredible. No wonder it’s a New York City icon. It’s not to be missed. Try the Russian dumplings go for the chicken Kyiv and for the beef stroganoff you will not be disappointed and excellent iconic New York City thing to do.

Fantastic holiday ambiance. Service was friendly and the food and drinks were excellent. RTR moves at a slower pace, but it is an institution, so go with a friend or people you care about and enjoy. Settle in for an experience and soak it all in.

I lived in New York for many years and left the city years ago I’ve never been to the Russian Tea Room. I was in the city with family today and we tried it for the first time. It was the most lovely experience. We all couldn’t say enough about our visit. Highly recommend it to locals as well as tourists. Two thumbs way up.

Too bad the service was so slow and inattentive. Spoiled the meal, which was otherwise superb. The place looks great and the food is excellent, but we typically waited 15-20 minutes for drinks and wine to arrive, which really threw the whole meal off. Six of us there for a special occasion, but the service was just awful.

The service was absolutely atrocious. Our waiter pretty much ignored us and never once came to check on us. Even with our coffee, I was about to just forget it and get the check. I believe our waiter was ill-equipped to work at such a fine restaurant. I think it was the manager who finally noticed and he took care of us. The hostesses were delightful though.
