Our first visit to Ruth's Chris West Des Moines and we had the Thanksgiving special. All the staff were friendly and professional and attentive. The food was delicious, Chicken and andouille sausage soup, turkey, stuffing, mashed potato, gravy, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. We may just make this our Thanksgiving tradition.

First time we have been to the West Des Moines Ruth Chris and it was FANTASTIC! Food was perfect and delicious. One of the best filets I have had. Server was great. The only rub was when we arrived - the front desk staff was less than friendly and when we checked in the 5 of them standing at the host desk looked at one another like deer in headlights - zero smiling. Everything else was great!

First time to this restaurant. Greeted promptly at check in, even took our coats! Lovely ambience and decor. Waitress met us promptly and took our drink order. Dinner arrived promptly and turkey dinner was hot and delicious as was dessert. Lovely restaurant for a special occasion.

Ruths Chris is normally a great dining experience. The Thanksgiving meal was mediocre at best for a restaurant of this caliber.

Over the years when I was still working I ate many meals at Ruth’s Chris. As a result I am very familiar with their high standards for food and service. We were recently in Des Moines and had the opportunity to eat at the Ruth’s Chris in West Des Moines. The service with Krystal was excellent per usual. The ambience was absolutely off the chart. Beautiful decor and even though they were very busy, we could use normal conversation and hear one another so the acoustics were also excellent. We were celebrating my birthday and Kaitlyn (the general manager) came by on two separate occasions to make sure it was up to our expectations. I told her it exceeded our expectations! If you are in the area, I strongly suggest you visit this restaurant - you won’t be disappointed!

You can’t go wrong eating at Ruth Chris! Everything is delicious, courteous and efficient staff and great ambience. They make special occasions, very special! Great place to celebrate!

Ruth's Chris is the best place for steak on the planet. The first bite of USDA prime beef from a sizzling 500 degree F (260 degree C) plate sends your mouth into ecstasy and makes you forget any problems you may be having, even if only for a few moments. I highly recommend the bone-in cuts. The bone-in filet is my personal favorite. The strip is my favorite cut since it has more beef than a traditional filet, but the bone-in filet at Ruth's Chris is so delicious that I cannot pass it up. Do not be concerned about the price. It is worth every penny and much more. The bone-in strip and T-bone are excellent choices for those who desire more beef and/or more value. Couples who like their steak cooked to the same temperature should consider the porterhouse. My dining guest likes the petite filet, an excellent choice for those with smaller appetites. I prefer my steak "naked", but if you're a little more adventurous, try one of the toppings. Shrimp always pairs well with steak. Unless you aren't into fried food, the shoestring fries are a must. A beautiful departure from the traditional fries you find at fast food and fast casual locations. The asparagus is my vegetable of choice. The hollandaise is on the side, which is a relief for me, since I like my spears just the way they are. I've also had the creamed spinach, and it too is outstanding. Ruth's Chris is dear to my heart since it started in New Orleans, my native city. It will become dear to your heart once you try it, if you haven't already.
