   We had an excellent Mothers Day lunch with old friends. Our waiter was excellent and took good care of us. The food was delicious, from the appetizers to the seafood and dessert buffets. Our only comment is that the buffet, and price, weren’t mentioned on the website.

   Have been to the Tides many times before and was looking forward to trying the new restaurant. It is beautiful and modern which the update was much needed. Our table was not set properly, no side plates, missing items. The server was very nice but needs a bit of coaching. She immediately asked us for drink orders but then did not give us a cocktail menu. We waited and then ordered drinks and then found out there was no bartender so she made them herself (one she never made before). They we not bad but for the cost and the fact that we were at a resort, I was really surprised there was no bartender on duty on a Friday afternoon. We then waited 25 minutes for them and then we ordered and waited a long long time for sandwiches. Ordered oysters and there were no oyster forks. She offered us dessert but no coffee nor did we see a dessert menu or anything. I love the Tides and the vibe but cost is not commensurate with the experience. I would not have even left a review except I am rooting for you to either fix the experience or bring a more moderate menu/price that fits the region.

   Great setting. Wonderful staff. One meal, crab cake sandwich was great. Caesar salad with grilled chicken was disgusting. The chicken was gray, chewy, fatty, with a weird taste. I’ve never had any chicken that ever looked like that or had that texture or was that awful. The server was great about it, the manager checked on our table and offered to make something else. And they would take off the price for the chicken. This was appropriate and appreciated. . I just ate the salad and left the chicken and hope they make serious adjustments to the chicken. I’ll go back as it probably was a one off. I hope so. Great spot and lovely people.

   The food at Salt & Meadow was disappointing, I expected much more for the cost. It was bland and a very small portion. Our experience at the restaurant bar was not good. We sat there for fifteen minutes and weren’t acknowledged until we got up to leave.

   I will start with the positives. My wife and I returned to The Tides Inn having spent our honeymoon here in 1975 (50 years ago). The dining room remodel and view are stunning!!!! Regrettably the food and service fell far below those high points. The staff were personable, yet the timing of courses was terrible - 45-50 minutes between courses. The food quality and temperature were inconsistent. The price point was too high for what we were plated. We could only handle a single evening meal on site given this experience - fortunately there are a few good value restaurants 5 minutes away in Irvington. The breakfast and lunch service experience were similar. It seemed to me that the staff and kitchen could use focused training and ongoing coaching to up the performance. The resort restaurant has so much potential!

   We had the excellent friend oysters as an appetizer on Easter night. Best ever!!!!! Followed by rock fish for my husband and I had rack of lamb. We split the oysters and crab cakes on the second night and both ordered salads.

    I dined with you all 3 times in our two night stay. The quality of food and drink and service is all top notch. the issue is the wait time for food. It was VERY long Saturday and Sunday which is hard to do with kids. Again, the staff is great, but you can't wait 50 min or more for entrees after ordering. Im sure yall can fix it.
