Located in a contemporary space of coastal design Salt at Geist has a focus on fresh. A locally owned scratch kitchen and bar specializing in wild and sustainable seafood, sushi, steaks, hand crafted cocktails along with an extensive wine list, Salt at Geist prides itself on creating unique dining experiences. The restaurant has quickly become a hot spot for casual after work cocktails, late night cocktails on the patio, social plate sharing, business dinners, special occasions, private dining and rehearsal dinners.

    Don't order the lamb shank! It was served ice cold in the middle! The entrees are overrated and overpriced!

    Food was excellent and service was amazing. Our server was excellent! The sushi was delicious as was the sea bass and tuna entrees! Will definitely go back very soon!

    Good is amazing, you can't go wrong with any seafood or fish dish. The sashimi block is out of this world. The price point is a little higher than average for the area.

    While visual appealing, the open floor plan allowed you to hear all conversations around you, at least in the section we were sitting. First cocktails were slow coming out, but after that, service was excellent. Can be hard to find good oysters in the winter (in Indiana) but these were very good. Ordered the born in ribeye, and while the steak itself was extremely tender, it was disappointing that the best bites came when dipped in the gravy and coated in butter. For a $10 side, I got 5 medium-size asparagus… not worth $2 a piece. Wife got the catch of the day, which they recommended be paired with the Parmesan risotto… which was not a good pairing, in our opinion. Good if enjoyed separately, but not together. Overall, it was a decent experience, but with similar favorites just as close, Peterson’s and 1933, and providing a better value and dining experience, this will not become a preferred destination for us.

    We were early (4:30) sometimes pretty quiet. Service was great. Melina did a fabulous job. Their new craft cocktails were great. Shrimp & grits and sea bass with citrus chili sauce. Both were great. Overall, great night out. Will be back.

    My husband and I came in for dinner. We had the shrimp tempura sushi, beet salad, and the shrimp & grits. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant and being a Sunday night; the noise level was quiet. I would return.
