We are excited to bring our dream to a reality along with friends and family. We plan to share our love and knowledge of an industry that we are so passionate about and proud to be a part of in our hometown of New Brunswick. Here at Salt, we are creating a modern oyster bar with a hip vibe serving up a large variety of fresh local oysters, as well as oysters from around the US. We will offer a seafood inspired seasonal menu both in our casual bar and our elegant dining room. We will also offer many innovative dishes including a variety of local meats along with plenty of vegetarian options. We aim to create an inviting atmosphere for everyone with our warm décor and friendly staff. Our full bar will feature a variety of signature cocktails and revolving creative small plates. Chef Chris’ passion for food promises consistent exceptional quality and to awaken the palate with bold, fresh flavors in every bite!

Stepping into the restaurant, I was immediately enveloped by its warm and inviting ambiance—a sanctuary from the cold outside. The host greeted us with genuine hospitality, promptly guiding us to our table. Lou, our waitress, was exceptional—attentive, knowledgeable We began with the potato-crusted halibut, a dish that showcased the kitchen’s skill in balancing texture and flavor—the crispiness of the crust yielding to the tender, flaky fish beneath. The seafood pappardelle followed, a harmonious medley of fresh ocean offerings entwined with perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta. This is a place that understands the essence of hospitality and the importance of delivering an unpretentious yet memorable dining experience. I look forward to returning, eager to explore more of what their thoughtfully curated menu has to offer.

This is my favorite restaurant! Excellent meals, great service, and beautiful ambience. I love the addition of the new Cove seating area - very cozy for a winter night out!

Love Salt so much. Been here many times (had a few birthday parties here as well), and it never disappoints. Last night we had the Kale-Romaine Caesar and the Salt Coastal salads to start. I used to get the Palm hearts salad which is also very good, but since I tried the Coastal salad with its capers and radishes and lovely, light vinaigrette, I’m hooked. We had the Blackened Tuna (a special for the night), for which my husband asked for a bit of kick to the spice, after our server told us it was very mild. Turned out perfectly seasoned and was a beautiful piece of tuna. Mine was the cast iron Chilean sea bass with tomatoes- also perfect. I finished with the special dessert- pineapple upside down cake with a scoop of caramel gelato. Heaven on a plate. Also, I cannot say enough about the amazing and pleasant staff, especially our waiter (wish I could recall his name!) and everyone one else who brought and cleared plates and filled glasses. We recommend Salt to everyone we know.

Had another excellent dining experience at Salt. We enjoyed our appetizers and entrees which were flavorful and melded the ingredients well. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Portions were good sized and satisfying. The one mediocre dish was the special dessert of upside down pineapple bread pudding. The pudding was dense and failed to distinguish itself. Our server was personable and attentive.

This was my second time having dinner with couples here and, once again, it did not disappoint. We ate downstairs in the "Cove" this time and it was as advertised: intimate, charming, and less lively (i.e. noisy) than upstairs. Food and service was best in class, as always, and prices were very reasonable.

We had a fantastic dinner with three other couples this past wknd at Salt! The food was on point, everything was tasty and super fresh. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the space itself is cozy. My ONLY wish was that when we were waiting for cocktails before dinner, that the bartenders were a little more attentive. It took way too long to get the bartenders attention and get our full order placed. Other than that, it was great and we will definitely be back! Definitely one of the nicer restaurants New Brunswick has to offer :)

This is one of my favorite restaurants. If you want a good selection of oysters small or large this is place to go. I’m never disappointed coming here, the bartenders made our drinks to perfection, the waitress (Arianna) was so attentive and had such a positive personality that you felt she really enjoyed her job. As far as the menu there’s plenty of choices and there’s always the specials which is usually my go to. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night or friends get together.
