Not good. We started with drinks, which took 30 minutes to arrive because “the bar was backed up.” The restaurant was half empty. Next were the oysters. They had two options on the menu. We ordered 5 of each. When they came to the table, the server just threw the plate down and walked away. We called him back over to ask which were which and he said they were all the same because they were out of one. Okay, normally you notify the people they are out instead of just assuming they want all of the same kind. Next our caviar pizza arrived. The taste was mediocre at best. Our meals arrived. I ordered scallops were rubbery and wholly overcooked. One of us ordered the cioppino which was supposed to have dungenss crab. It arrived sans crab. The server didn’t come back until we had finished eating. We mentioned to him there was no crab, feigning surprise he said he would go ask the chef. At this point, the manager comes over and tells us “the chef simply forgot to add it, would you like me to bring you some?” Sure. Tiny snow crab claws were brought out instead. We were told “not to worry, we won’t charge you for the cioppino or half the oysters and we’ll send over a free dessert.” The table ordered banana foster. Someone was a little heavy handed on whatever the sauce was supposed to be and it completely filled the bowl drowning the bananas. Not great. The vanilla ice cream was the best part. We understand, restaurants run out of things, but a little transparency would have made things better. The quality of the food for what we paid, even with the free cioppino and dessert, $500, was average at best. I could have had a better and less expensive meal at Jax’s. We should have just got to Matsuhisa up the street. Would not go back. Would not recommend.
