Northern Italy’s rustic charm and Miami’s vibrancy meets genuine fare: a no-fuss dining spot that guests can enjoy often with a core set of delicious dishes complemented by daily specials that leave one wanting more. Salumeria 104 is a rustic, trattoria-style restaurant serving signature salumi dishes (artisan Italian cured meats) and traditional, house made Italian classics prepared with the finest, freshest ingredients. Chef & Co-Owner Angelo Masarin is intent on creating dishes inspired by his childhood, such as the ones his grandmother taught him. The menu focuses on seasonal ingredients as well as a variety of imported salumi that is exclusive to Salumeria 104 to dine in or purchase by the pound.

The waiter Nicolay was outstanding, knowledgeable and quite accommodating. Started with a Caesar salad that easily could have fed two, asked for anchovies and was amazed at the amount for a three dollar up charge. The do a separate menu of 7 specials and 3 appetizers which change on a weekly basis. I tried the Black Sea bass over garlic spinach which was a nice portion and perfectly prepared. My girlfriend had the frutti de mare over linguini which was another winner. We ended up with chocolate salami log for desert. On Mondays they do a half off bottles of wine special which only added to my satisfaction. I don’t know how it is on weekends but I highly recommend trying it on a Monday night.

My husband especially enjoyed the short ribs. And we highly recommend the almond cake with the gelato. If you go, you will not be disappointed.

Food is usually reliable and good. Have always had a good experience. Unfortunately last night was not the same. First let me say the ambiance and service was excellent. The table was ready when we arrived and our server was outstanding- very attentive and helpful. As far as the meal, this is what was lacking. We ordered the lamb shank, the linguine fruti di Mare and the risotto fruti di Mare. The lamb was excellent. The risotto dish arrived with the risotto very undercooked(not al dente- it was simply undercooked). We called the server over and she promptly took it back and replaced it without hesitation. Unfortunately, though now it was properly cooked, it was somewhat flavorless. This dish could use some improvement. Definitely the worst dish was the Linguine fruti de Mare. The pasta was completely flavorless. After dinner when checking reviews I noticed that others had reviewed the dish similarly(wish I saw this before I placed my order). The menu described it as being in a light tomato sauce. In fact the sauce is almost pure water, lacked tomato flavor or any flavor for that matter. Please improve this dish as now several patrons have complained. Please note that I never told the server as I had already returned the uncooked risotto and at this point one risks being perceived as a difficult customer when in reality I rarely complete reviews. However I am completing this one in hopes that it will be read and improvements made so that I can consider giving this location an additional chance. Desert was very good. Though I have had 4-5 star experiences in the past, based on the food I gave it 2 stars last night.
