Salut Bar Américain is the brasserie down the block. Warm and welcoming, with an urbane wit and urban sensibility, it’s an afternoon hangout and an evening refuge. It’s your neighbor with a French accent. The setting evokes a classic Parisian bistro/restaurant. The service is spirited, confident and capably executed. And the cooking captures the freshness and hearty flavor of French cuisine. It’s the vibe inside that sets Salut apart from bowing maitre ‘d’s and sniffing sommeliers.     It was Valentine’s Day so it was quite busy & crazy, as to be expected. We go here quite often & I have noticed the food is not the same the last several weeks. We both had the Amish chicken. Not good, very dried out. Didn’t get our favorite waiter, so that affected the experience too. All in all, not the same place we’ve enjoyed for years.

    The flexibility in dish preparation is great I was able to substitute salmon for tuna in the neoise salad Becky was most helpful to assure our orders were taken and delivered promptly
