Sammy’s at The Yellow House in south London’s Surrey Quays, Canada Water area is a big, warm hug of a local bar and restaurant. Chefs Samuel and Jaime, who worked together here for many years as The yellow house restaurant, have taken over as “Sammy’s” preparing fresh ingredients for the bistro menu and the pizza & pasta menu.
Regulars appreciate the relaxed ambience, warm welcome, friendly service and passion about the food on the plate. Locals love this place. Sammy's European cuisine offers dependable classics like grilled steak & fries, wood-fired pizzas, hand-made pastas and a weekly changing selection of starters, fish and meat dishes such as roast English lamb with gratin dauphinois & rosemary jus . There’s a log-burning stove in the bar for wintry days, a terrace overlooking Southwark Park for summery evenings, and a great selection of cocktails, wines and draught premium lagers.

                                                                                                          First dinner at ‘Sammy’s @ The Yellow House’ and it didn’t disappoint. Super quality dishes made with love. So excited that this local gem is keeping going, such an important local gem which should not be underestimated. Big shout out to Samuel with his exceptional ideas and great dishes! The desserts by Jaime are obviously still the best… the rhubarb tart was exceptional.

                                                                                                          Absolutely delicious dinner tonight at the Yellow House. Both the Beef Bourguignon and the Pork Chop were top draw. Always have to leave space for their special desserts too. Really lovely people who always make us feel welcome.

                                                                                                          Excellent food and friendly, welcoming staff, as always. My husband really enjoyed his flat iron steak and my tiger prawn risotto was delicious. The wine list is good with decent wines reasonably priced. The restaurant also has a nice bar area with a fire and some banquette seating.

                                                                                                          I highly recommend this bar/restaurant which serves fantastic and absolutely delicious food at affordable prices. It’s right opposite Surrey Quays station in South London and there’s free parking on Southwark Park Rd. Ideal for couples and families alike. There is plenty of space around the tables for wheelchair users too. On my most recent visit, I ate the silkiest most delicious tiramisu I have ever tasted which is just as well because I opted for that over my usual favourite Yellow House dessert of six pieces of the house fudge! Dress is smart casual. There’s a lovely cosy vibe and a garden for the summer with a pizza oven. They also serve roast dinners on Sundays.

                                                                                                          A wonderful birthday experience, the staff were very friendly and made the whole evening feel very special. The food was excellent, from the pizzas to the pastas! I will definitely be returning to this hidden gem.
