At breakfast I had the best congee I ever had in the United States at San Laurel. The ingredients were spectacular. Home made dried pork hash was made from jamon iberico and their XO sauce was also homemade by the chef. I shall order congee for breakfast every time I stay at Conrad Downtown LA.

There is nothing to fault in this dining experience. Each element serves to enhance the other. We decided that it makes no difference what we order. Everything on the menu is delicious, unique, and surprising. Staff is wonderful. And the location is perfect for the Disney, the Broad, and the Music Center. An absolute winner.

It was fantastic. We had a reservation for 4 couples and we all arrived earlier than our reservation. They accommodated us and sat us as soon as we got there. The waiter accommodated everyone’s individual needs, clearly explained the menu items, and checked on us throughout the evening to ensure we had everything. The food was delicious and came out to our table as soon as it was ready. The cocktails were great. Presentation, ambience, and service were excellent. Only my partner and I had visited San Laurel before. For everyone else, it was their first time, and they were absolutely impressed!

I have been to several Jose Andreas restaurants and this one seemed to be from a different chef. I left underwhelmed and will not be back anytime soon.

The food is incredible both in the wonderful combination of flavors and presentation. Service is professional and attentive. The prices make it more of a special occasion place. Because there are so many excellent dishes, it is a fun place to go with at least four people and plan to share plates.
