Originally built in 1887 as the third post office in Queensland, the iconic Sandgate Post Office has a new lease on life. Stylish and quintessentially Sandgate, it is a destination venue with an elegant gastro-pub restaurant, a vibrant main bar, a whiskey vault and sun-soaked alfresco dining.

Standing proud in Sandgate for 135 years, the heritage of the building has been embraced with a renovation that honours the role the Post Office has had in the community for over a century. Located on the corner of Bowser Parade and Rainbow Street across the road from the Sandgate rail station, it is once again set to be a landmark for the Sandgate community.

We are well known for our rotisserie meats, steaks, sandcrab lasagne and gluten free food/desserts.

Understaffed. Understand it is a busy time of the year, however tell patrons upfront that there will be delays. They can then make a decision to stay or go elsewhere. The food took over an hour. This is not the staffs fault either. Also the air conditioning wasn't working. You probably need to go back to counter meals.

Had to go up to bar ourselves to get drinks. Waited 40 mins to be served for food. Prawn cocktail was very poor for price. Short staff on Christmas Eve. Disappointed as we had booked a special meal with our parents.

We didn’t stay. It was extremely noisy. As soon as we were seated we were informed we had to order immediately as the kitchen closes in 15 mins. We chose to go elsewhere where we could sit and enjoy a meal.

Very burnt steak and dry duck. Service and ambience are nice but won’t go back again.

Came with a party of 6 to celebrate my wife's birthday. The setting was nice, and the food was good quality. Unfortunately, while the wait staff were all friendly it took over 90 minutes for our food to be served. We had a reservation at 5:45pm, were seated and had ordered by 6pm, however food did not come out until around 7:30pm.

Service friendly but food very slow to arrive. Nice decor but the acoustics in the Dining Room made it very noisy.

My daughters and granddaughters joined me in a wonderful pre Christmas High Tea. Everything was lovely, from the friendly staff, scrumptious food, to great service we will definitely be coming back again. We decided we want to make this December High Tea a tradition. We'll done to the Sandgate Post Office Hotel.
