"What a Wonderful World"
Built in 1867, Satchmo's Corner sits in a wonderful old building in the market town of Rugby, famous for the game, Rugby School and for being
The Gateway to the Midlands.
Satchmo's Corner represents all one wants to enjoy in a restaurant, one might say. Take some time out of your day to slow down and relax in the epitome of comfort, in our soft lounge area or more formally at the table where you will be served food from our menus of modern British cuisine,
whether breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or evening meal all of which are cooked in-house by our amazing Chef's, who prepare, cook and serve
fresh food daily, Tuesday to Sunday.
Starting with an array of delicious choices.
Breakfast with an array of options is served 9am - 12pm, and our luncheon menu, from 12pm - 6pm.
Satchmo’s would not be complete if we didn’t offer our quintessentially English afternoon teas which are served 1pm – 4pm and followed by
dinner at 5pm.

A very pleasant lunch, food and ambiance was lovely although very limited vegan/veggie options, my daughter ended up with chips and olives. Service very friendly but lacking a little in efficiency, having to chase up drinks and didn't ever get a bottle of water ordered. Would definitely return, just not with vegetarian guests.

Went for the breakfast menu. I had the full English breakfast and my wife had French toast. Both were excellent. Will be coming back for future meals for sure

It’s a while since our last visit but I would say satchmos just gets better each time. Lovely buzz about the restaurant and everyone was very attentive. Food was great as usual

The food was fabulous, really tasty and cooked to perfection. We did, however, have a number of issues with service. One dish was nearly dropped (taken away to put back together) , we asked for a plate instead of board for the steak to be served on. A small side place was provided to squeeze the food on. Then the steak knife we asked for never arrived. The bill arrived and had extra items on it, which was rectified quickly. We have eaten here a few times and service has usually been excellent, so I guess they were just having a bad day.

Fantastic lunch today at Satchmo’s Corner. Tasty terrine for terrine to start. Fab sea bass dish for main. Friendly, professional service. We’ll be back.

We left after 35 minutes because no-one bothered to come to our table to take our order. They knew we were there because we were shown to our table and given menus. The menu folder was repaired with tape

I found the menu quite challenging so took a while to decide. When asked what I wanted I was told they didn’t have it. If I had been told what was unavailable at the beginning then this would have been more helpful

The food was excellent and all the diners enjoyed their meal. A small annoyance was that the little pot of pepper sauce that accompanied both steaks was so hot and so shaped that it couldn’t be picked up to distribute the contents . The live music being played was at a pleasant volume for the dining room . Overall a pleasant evening that everyone enjoyed and will be repeated soon.
