Enjoy a night of fine wine, mixologist made cocktails and elevated comfort food at a locally owned casual fine dining restaurant in the Shops of Prairie Village. From humble beginnings as a small catering company we have transformed into a one-of-a-kind small boutique restaurant that provides a private and intimate dining experience focused on the food at the table and personal interactions with our team. Come experience the culinary expertise of Chef Taylor Hindman alongside 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence wine program featuring more than 165 unique wine selections curated by our owner Tyler Morrison.

Scratch is a small gem of a restaurant that provides a surprise and delight as we continue to grow. Since our opening in 2021, Scratch has been awarded Best New Restaurant in Johnson County in 2022 by The Shawnee Mission Post, 2023 Best Caterer in Johnson County, Finalist for Best New Restaurant by KC Magazine, and 2023 Yelp's "People Love Us".

    Best meal we’ve had in a long time! Loved everything from the drinks to the bruschetta (incredible!!) to the perfectly cooked filet. Wish we’d left room for dessert. Next time! Such a darling, classy, quaint place. Cannot wait to go back!

    Have dined at Scratch several times and I’m never disappoints! The food is fantastic, the cocktails are always seasonal, fun + delicious and service is amazing!

    The food was great as always. What I’m most curious about is why we were told we had about 5min to wrap up our dinner because there was an 8:00 reservation coming in. To the left of us was a four top table that was seated well before us and were still there when we left. So why were we informed “our” table had a reservation waiting???

    Reservations made for this petite location in Prairie Village. Owner Tyler Morrison gave us fabulous recommendations for our wine choices for our courses from his vast collection, understanding our descriptions of our other wine enjoyments. For our first course we shared small plates of the Bacon Figs and a Crab Cake. Both excellent! 2nd course we tried the seasonal soup. For my Entree I had the Steak Au Pave, with the crispy layered potato pave (yum!) asparagus, garlic creme, demi glace, all which I would order again. For dessert we took the Server's wise suggestion to not just photograph, but video the Chocolate Dome melting, as it exposed the scoop of ice cream plus brownie base & more, topped with nuts. Save room for this. This was our first time dining in, though I have enjoyed many occasions of Scratch catering at Brunches & Luncheons. Fellow Foodies- know the food will taste as wonderful as your photographs in their lovely presentation. Cheers! Deb
