                                                                        It's so nice to see a local restaurant with great food flourish! The place was packed at 6:30 on a Friday. We've been to Selda and their other restaurant The Mayor's House - both excellent.

                                                                        This has been my secret go to for a girls lunch or dinner for a while. Today I brought two first timers and it just wasn’t great. The place really needs a deep cleaning. Starting at the entrance it just feels dirty and run down. The olive and feta appetizer had olives with some “crust” on them. Probably just sitting out of the brine too long, but it wasn’t appetizing. The flow of the dishes we ordered tj share was awkward. We saw our server sporadically. Asked another server to add an order of hummus for us. 30 minutes later we asked for it again. We inquired our dessert/coffee/tea but then let our server know that we had decided against it and we were done. As it was lunch on a weekday, I expected the bill to come after that. It was quite some time before we saw our server again so we finally asked another server about our check it was at least 30 minutes between letting them know when we were done and when we received the check. Our server said this was a cultural thing and that it would have been rude for him to bring the check before we explicitly asked for it. I have no reason to think the cultural thing is untrue, however I’ve been to Selda many other times and this has never been a thing before. I was a little embarrassed about my restaurant choice today as it was a birthday celebration and neither of my friends had been before.
