Selden Standard’s fare features flavors born in local farms, captured at the peak of the season, prepared in their wood-fired oven, and served small plates-style in shareable portions. Complementing the menu are wines from small producers, distinctive brews, and cocktails to suit the seasons. Selden is rustic and casual, but with an ever-present eye for quality, creativity, and fun. Chef Andy Hollyday is a 2023 James Beard finalist and four-time semi-finalist. Selden Standard was named a semi-finalist for Outstanding Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation (2024), and has been named Restaurant of the Year by both the Detroit Free Press (2015) and Hour Detroit (2016).

I had the pleasure of dining at Selden Standard once again, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! The food was an incredible showcase of creativity and quality, with each dish highlighting the freshest local ingredients. The flavor pairings were nothing short of perfection, demonstrating an impressive balance of innovation and harmony. The attention to detail in both presentation and taste was remarkable, and you could tell that a lot of thought and care went into every plate. The staff was also attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations that enhanced the experience. The meal was absolutely delicious from the appetizers to the dairy free chocolate sorbet you could tell all the ingredients were fresh. 10/10 would go and will go bad asap

Selden Standard is the standard for the best restaurants in the city. The service is brilliant. The food is exquisite. The creativity that flourishes from each dish is indescribable. We adore this restaurant. 1000% - we will be back.
