Set in the idyllic beachside town of Lennox Head in Northern New South Wales, Shelter is your home away from home, whether you are just passing through or you’re part of the local community. With the community in mind, we endeavor to use ethically sustainable, seasonal products sourced from local producers and suppliers. We offer a full service venue from a picturesque beachside ceremony location (across the road), cocktail outdoor area and indoor restaurant with windows folding right back to bring the outdoors in. Our in-house co-ordinator will make preparation for and the running of your day a breeze as we include liaising with the chefs and suppliers, run sheet and coordination on the day. ACCOMMODATION - CUPOLA Recently and tastefully renovated, highlighting the sun from the moment it rises until the stars come out at night, this little nest above our restaurant is the perfect place to stay after your celebrations. Another restaurant in the Byron shire that can’t think outside the square I’m afraid. We had high hopes. Menu looked promising. Both my hubby and I ordered the market fish with curry sauce and when our meals arrived sans rice or any carbs, we were left bemused. I know - never expect any free carbs on your plate these days .. but seriously there wasn’t even a rice option as a side dish. Just the same old deep fried ‘smashed potatoes’ which are served in EVERY restaurant in the shire. Can someone please tell me why so much food is now deep-fried in restaurants that once served mash and actual ‘roasted’ potatoes? Three Blue Ducks might as well call themselves Three Fried Ducks! No mash these days - why?? Has it gone the way of rice? Just too hard to make - surely not. Anyway back to the meal at hand - to add the proverbial cherry on top, a big old ugly black pube-looking hair snuck out from under the Pak Choi!! Thank God for the gorgeous sensible Scottish manageress 🙏 She was appalled so a free single malt whiskey and 2 desserts on the house later and we were gone.

The food is outstanding. The flavours are so delicious. All of the staff were very attentive and lovely.

Just about as good as you get. The steak was superb as was the fish. Delicious entrees and friendly service. Overall 10/10

Really good food - beautiful balance of flavours. We had the chef tasting menu- every dish was perfect. Yes, it is pricey but definitely worth it. Fantastic service as well thank you.

Surprise package in Lennox Head although they have been here some years. Right opposite beach, open plan and sea breezes. Very popular. Would have liked a few more main options. But everything we ordered from entrees to fish curry main and salads were terrific + nice wine. Definitely a good place for lunch (and probably dinner)!
