Having always been at the heart of Valley life, the 17th century Shibden Mill Inn was originally a corn and spinning mill, before being converted into a country pub in 1890.

Today’s visitors are welcomed with warm hospitality to enjoy first class dining against an inviting backdrop of open fires, low beamed ceilings and a cosy bar. Eleven individually styled bedrooms make comfortable and luxurious retreats, epitomising boutique country style and featuring lots of thoughtful touches.

And if you can drag yourself away from the Inn, there are wonderful walks from the doorstep and world class attractions within easy reach. For a spot of retail therapy or a cultural fix, Halifax is a 10-minute drive and Leeds is just 30 minutes away.

Gorgeous evening. Food, atmosphere, venue, service exquisite. It was cosy and comfortable with great choices on the menu and a very nice Argentinian Malbec and Zero percent Guinness for the drivers. The sausage and olive balls on the nibbles menu were so delicious. We will be back soon to enjoy the terrace in the summer and I really hope we can stay in one of the rooms. Thank you.

We very much enjoyed our late lunch here in this stunning old pub. The service was amazing, and the food delicious. There are plenty of choices for different dietary requirements and even a full vegan menu, which we mixed and matched our choices from the main and vegan menu. It's not cheap, but definitely worth spending the extra money for freshly prepared food. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back.

Another lovely evening as it was my husbands birthday. Staff were fantastic as usual, thank you for being so attentive. Food excellent, thanks to the kitchen. Bar staff lovely. The only one thing that was a slight irritation was a table of four being extremely loud. We couldn’t hold a conversation after they came in. They wanted people to know their status in life. Very annoying for the three couples on their own. This is no fault of the restaurant as they don’t have a crystal ball for noisy people.

Sunday lunch - service was great as always. Sunday lunch was good and the roast beef was amazing,. Always a favourite and the outside drinking/seating area had a real buzz about it.
