Meticulously researched, planned and executed by the team led by Chef Sahil Sethi, and mentored by none other than Chef Sujan Sarkar, SIFR is a refreshingly different story of Middle Eastern cuisine seen through a whole new lens of creativity.

SIFR’s dishes are mostly cooked over a charcoal and wood-fired hearth, offering Mezze and larger plates, best shared family-style, as is common in Middle Eastern culture.

                                                            Great birthday dinner at Sifr! Gave us all a champagne tasting to start the celebration. Amazing appetizers—we had the non veg mezze, salmon, eggplant and falafel. Mezze is wonderful as was the eggplant which was so flavorful and spicy! Then we had the branzino and duck — branzino was delicate and delicious. My husband and son loved the duck also. We were recommended to try the twice fried potatoes with harissa and those were devoured. Last we had the date pudding with salted carmel ice cream which they topped with a bday candle. All in all a lovely celebratory dinner. Great waitstaff and ambiance.

                                                            My first night in Chicago for a four-day visit. Sifr’s tasting menu was all I had hoped for: I recommend especially the hummus appetizer and the date dessert. Wow! The server helped so much, and everyone was lovely, even to a solo traveler.

                                                            We tried the tasting menu. The Hummus and pita was great that it rose our expectations, but as we got other courses, it was very average, especially the main course, we couldn’t finish it because the chicken didn’t taste that great, the cauliflower was average. The sides didn’t really go with the main course. When it comes to dessert, the date pudding was amazing but the sorbet was such a disappointment.

                                                            The staff was absolutely accommodating. So helpful with food, allergies. The food is phenomenal. It’s a great location to go with groups of people. They are so attentive and so friendly.

                                                            Food is delicious and they truly have excellence in service. That’s very rare for a restaurant. Our server was prompt and was thinking ahead to ensure we were comfortable. Really appreciate that they took this care in mind. And every dish tastes lovely
