   Love Slanted Door! Most interesting menu in Napa. Food is delicious. If it is warm, eat outside in the lovely courtyard.

   Food was very good and innovative. I could have used a little more spice (not heat specifically) & acid. I felt most dishes were just lacking a little ‘zing’ to take them from good to great. Service needs some improvement (and perhaps more servers?). It began at arrival where two hostesses were busy doing something and didn’t even look up to greet us. Service 101 : immediately & warmly greet guests. We then waited what felt like an eternity after being seated for the first server to even check in on us and/or to take a drink order. Service continued to be slow (I had to get up to retrieve our nearby bottle of wine after all 3 of us were out for an extended period). One dish we ordered never came out… In fairness, the two ladies and the sommelier who tended to us were very nice and friendly and I think the service issues possibly had to do with being understaffed that evening. It would have gone a long way if one of them had acknowledged the slow service and offered some type of explanation/apology. All in all we had a good meal and we will go back as there are more dishes we want to try and a few we’d try again.

   Lovely restaurant with great service. Try the Imperial Spring rolls, the Chinese chicken salad, the cellophane noodles and the shaking beef. The Basque cheesecake with lemon is a must!

   Such wonderful food: spring rolls, imperial rolls and 5 spice chicken vermicelli bowl were all fabulous!

   We were disappointed with the time it took to receive our food. We were seated promptly and it was after the lunch rush. There were only 4 other tables and they had already been served. They forgot our chicken salad. If they didn’t want to serve us, they should have directed us to the bar. The reason I am very disappointed is the 20% surcharge for entire staff. If I wanted to wait that long, I could have gone to Morimoto’s!

    Very above average meal to round out a day of wine tasting. I booked this based on a memory of lunch at the original restaurant in the Ferry Building. For it's niche, it is very well presented and executed; the food quality was all excellent and the service attentive. My only complaints are minor: $35 to cork a bottle, in wine country, is slightly over the top. $15-25 is understandable; but I would think that many people would have new wines their trunks after a day of exploring that they would like to utilize, and $35 seems opportunistic. Also, a standard 20% gratuity is slightly pretentious. We went with it, but many servers prefer cash tips, which we would have done. Overall, I'm glad I revisited this place. But the high prices mean it will probably be awhile before I return.
