Sol y Sombra has been Dundee’s most popular tapas bar since it opened in 2011. Born out of a love for Spanish food and culture, we have created a menu of fresh, authentic and simple tapas. The aim is to recreate the feel of a typical Spanish family meal, so everyone has to share and enjoy the meal as one.

Good experience. Service so friendly and helpful. Food amazing and catered easily for dietary needs which is much appreciated. Would recommend and return.

The waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was served quickly and looked appetizing. However, coming into the downstairs restaurant from the cold did not meet us with a warm atmosphere. The restaurant was colder than the winter chill outside which was awful. The food cooled down quickly due to this and the Sangria jug was packed with ice which added to the shivers. We quickly ate most of the food and would have stayed chatting over our drink but had to get out to a warmer location. We left the remaining Jug of Sangria and quickly went to a nearby coffee shop to warm up. The waitress agreed it was extremely cold due to the old building and apologised. I was very disappointed as I was treating my friend for a very special birthday.

Brilliant food as ever. Very helpful and friendly staff. A lovely surprise to find out it was half price tapas.

This was our first visit to Sol Y Sombra Tapas Bar and it didn't disappoint. The decor was tastefully done, the staff very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent, I liked the set menu where they chose what we had to eat, it gave us the opportunity to try food which we may not have ordered ourselves. (They asked about allergies and if there was any particular food we didnt want). The tapas was fantastic and very tasty, plentiful with great meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes. All in all it was a great success at reasonable prices. We will be back!

Welcoming environment and friendly staff. Seated quickly and the staff are very knowledgeable. The manager can to chat and talked about all the exciting additions being made over the coming months. It all sounds great. The food as always was fresh, tasty and well prepared and presented. We will definitely be back. 5 stars from us!

Great food - close to being in Spain - and good wine selection. Service was friendly and efficient. Real value for money and pleasurable experience

Food as always was lovely! Staff are lovely and very helpful however it felt like there was not enough staff on we had to find someone to get more drinks and took a while which impacted on food as we were left without a drink. Saying that we love this place would always highly recommend
