It's hard to leave a view when you're left speechless.. Let's start with the welcome - front of house staff dressed in uniform cream, each with their own defined and welcoming personality; no pressure to go for the tasting menu, but when you're told that it 'just keeps coming,' it's hard to resist. An informed sommelier tells you that the wine list changes each week and are responsibly sourced - this adds to the mix. And then the dishes do indeed keep coming - and what dishes they are. Victor Garvey is in many ways a summation of all the great restaurants in which he's worked - French Laundry, El Bulli etc.. This is, for me, the best place no just in London, but Europe... and it's just getting started...

Everything about the evening was fabulous! Food and wine of exceptional quality, knowledgeable and friendly service, tables well spaced out and large. Would definitely return.

Honestly a terrible experience, especially at this price point. Our primary complaint was the service - which was indifferent and inattentive. We arrived early for our reservation (by 5 min) and were treated as an inconvenience. Drink menus were only produced as an afterthought. Halfway through the first course I had an empty glass and was not one asked if I wanted anything else (which I would have ordered even for a 26 pound makers mark old fashioned). We finished our meal and had no offer of coffee service and watched the the lead staff pass our table (in a very very small space) more than 10 times without any check in on our meal or offer to bring the check. Food was all right but a bit underwhelming, with last minute substitutes from the menu (halibut is not the same as scallops) and a very underwhelming wagyu steak (tough to cut and overcooked). The pastries were quite good but the chocolate cake was easily the size of both savory courses so it was imbalanced. On top of that the space lacked attention to detail - no hand towels in the single toilet, typos and ill formatted menus, etc. Considering the great restaurants within a five minute walk i cannot imagine this place will keep its star let alone stay in business.

My favourites were the oyster, duck and chocolate dessert. The dishes were all finely executed and delicious, with very fresh ingredients. For a non-alcoholic drink, you can request a mocktail suited to your taste (I opted for a berry-flavoured beverage). Overall, it’s a nice restaurant with a thoughtful menu of Western and Japanese flavours. In terms the seating layout, I did find the sofa a little uncomfortable as most duos were seated next to each other instead of across. The table was a bit far from my reach as well which meant I had to lean forward to eat.

Just love the food here. This was my fifth or sixth visit and there's always a wonderful level of creativity and a little fun in the presentation and flavours. Just makes me smile.
