Food at Sophie’s rooftop was a bit disappointing. We went for a brunch the morning we checked out of the hotel. I rang in advance to inquire about allergy information as I am coeliac. Whoever answered the phone must not have known what coeliac disease is because they told me I can eat everything on the menu(including the waffles and pancakes which are not gluten free) and while looking at the menu online everything contained wheat in it. I booked it anyways in hope that they had a gluten free menu because they have a vegan and vegetarian one. I was disappointed when I arrived to find out that I could only eat a salad or a sandwich. There was also an option of a burger but I wasn’t feeling like a burger in the morning. So I ordered the sandwich and was very disappointed when a cardboard looking bread arrived with two measly slices of chicken in between and some fries on the side. I was starving by this point and when this came out I was more than disappointed. Safe to say I won’t be going back again! It’s very sad to see in this day and age that we cannot accommodate for an autoimmune disease that is out of a persons control yet we can accommodate for vegans and vegetarians. Joke!!!

Cosy & friendly with an exceptional view! Nothing to “top” this top roof restaurant! Extra tip: the wine is just better at the top ;)

Lovely restaurant, cosy, welcoming and positive ambiance. Menu was varied and food sounded tempting. Order taken promptly and food arrived shortly thereafter. Starter of ciabatta with nduja butter was very tasty. Nice warm soft bread with crispy crust and well seasoned butter. Main courses of featherblade of beef and duck were excellent. 2 minor points to say would be that the vegetables with the duck could have been warmer and a steak knife to cut it would have been helpful. Neither of these were highlighted to staff during the meal. The dessert of Christmas trifle was very nice and brought back memories of trifles we had as kids. Overall, a nice place to visit and the food was good.

First time experiencing Sophie’s rooftop at The Dean, Cork. We all loved it there. Staff were so polite and accommodating. Food, atmosphere etc were just perfect. We will be back soon.

Fine for me (but loud for older generations), menu choice only ok, drinks unfortunately forgotten, dessert truffles rock hard could not possibly eat them. Nice ambiance (for a younger generation) lovely place. Sounds like a mixed review but I do recommend. Lovely place.

The kitchen ran out of the item that we ordered and instead of the waitress telling us she presented us with another dish. So strange. Also the restaurant was freezing! Had to ask 4 times to close the terrace door. The service was non-existent. Was going to book my hen party with ye but I will certainly not be back.
