Sotto Sopra is an Italian restaurant housed in a beautiful 19th century building just blocks north of Baltimore’s Harborplace on Charles Street. Sotto Sopra specializes in true contemporary Italian cuisine adapting farm to table. We buy local whenever it is possible. The perfect risotto, handmade pastas, roasted meats, local seafood, and regional produce are here for your total enjoyment.

    We especially enjoyed the seafood risotto and pork osso buco. The Prince Edward Island mussels and fresh focaccia were also very tasty. Service was excellent.

    My friend and I had a show, and, not being able to take anything with us, decided to get the charcuterie board appetizer and split an entree. The board had some real delights; the fried eggplant was incredible. Wish there had been more of that. The large caper berries were delightful. The proscuitto was cut a little thick with wide bands of pure fat. Some fat is good, but this was more. Nice salamis. The cheese would have really been good, but it was ice cold and we did not have an abundance of time. The salad greens were cold, crisp, well seasoned and a delightful shaving on top. For the entree we got a special; seafood pappardelle, with shrimp, lobster, and scallops. We were not impressed. Besides the shrimp, there was no other seafood, half a dozen lumps, about a quarter teaspoon in size, of what might have been lobster, but overcooked whatever they were, mushy. No scallops. And sauce was bland, not much lobster flavor. I actually had to ask for salt. We both agreed that the description sounded much better than what was served, and at $49 we expected a little more than just half a dozen shrimp. But we recovered, with each of us getting the creme brulee, which was excellent, still hot and crisp on the surface, the custard underneath rich, cool and smooth. Excellent flavor. We both agreed we just wouldn't get that entree again if we returned. The service was excellent considering we shared our waiter with a large noisy table next to us.

    Lovely showing for Peabody night with my wife. We love the assortment of events at this restaurant! Its what keeps us coming back year after year. Oh yea, the FOOD is delicious too!

    This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We were thoroughly impressed with the food, service, and the special music provided by Peabody students. The wine selection was outstanding and we purchased a special bottle of Italian wine to complement our meal. We look forward to returning again.

    Derrick, our server, is the consummate server, sommelier and knowledgeable person about everything that touches the business. I brought some friends with me who had not been to Sotto Sopra since 2006. They vowed to return because of him, (and the food and the singers). A good time was had by all!
