   We are members of the club. The food (chef) quality has gone down tremendously. I ordered crab cakes and could not eat it. Mushy, very little crab meat and there was a spice that over powered the taste . I believe it was cumin. My husband do steak was just ok. Cocktail at the bar took 20 minutes to receive drink. Not a very motivated bartender.

   My wife and I enjoyed our dinner at Southern Roots, and definitely look forward to returning soon. Very nice place with excellent and friendly service. The gumbo was delicious and the snapper was among the best fish I've ever had! Great bartenders also!

   We dined for dinner on our 10yr anniversary. The service was impeccable, Dallas our server was very knowledgeable of the new menu & provided excellent service. Susan, the manager was so thoughtful, acknowleding our anniversary, she is a true customer service professional. We had the aged ribeye & the strip steak - Between both entrees, the prosciutto burrata starter and signature bread pudding, this was the BEST meal we had in Fairhope. Looking forward to our next stay at the Grand to share another meal at Southern Roots.

   Beautiful place for watching the sun set over Mobile Bay. Our server, Jordan, was attentive and knowledgeable with good suggestions for dishes and wines. The Prosciutto and Burrata appetizer was amazing—freshly sliced prosciutto with burrata and arugula then topped with a white balsamic drizzle. Yummy! Entrees of Grouper with yellow tomato risotto and Rack of Lamb with orzo were both cooked to perfection. Always a treat to find a farm-to-table restaurant, and Southern Roots was certainly an enjoyable experience.

   Our 7:00 pm reservation. There clearly was a problem at the bar. It took 30 minutes to get our pre dinner one beer and a vodka cocktail. Our waiter came back to apologize for the long wait. Clearly, scrambling to care for guests. However, our steak was to perfection.

   The only saving grace was our server. Unfortunately I can’t remember her name. But she was amazing. That and the view were the only positives. My food was room temperature at best and at the price none of our food met expectations. The level of the food is what I would expect from some place charging about 25-30% less than the price we paid. Drove an hour based off reviews to eat here and was no where close to worth our time and money. We normally give most places at least two tries. Not here. Go to Hope Farm instead. Or Washhouse. Or Thyme.

    We had a superb meal, excellent service but the evening was dimished by the large group that stayed at least 4 hours and was rudely and obnoxiously loud. It did not make for a memorable anniversary dinner. I wish Management would have asked them to be respectful of others who had taken the time to dress up, spend extra money on a very elegant dinner. Eating outside would have matched their behavior much better. How disappointing! Our server made it tolerable.
