                                                                                                                                                      This review is worth writing to warn others about our horrible experience at Soya Sushi. The service was very slow and the food overrated! Our server was attentive when taking the order, but she didn’t come back after our food was served. It took 10 minutes to get her attention to tell her to bring napkins, soy sauce, and small dishes for the soy sauce. One of the Bob Marley rolls contained a white fatty, rubbery piece of what seemed to be “fish” that was inedible. We sat at a table by the large window facing west. My daughters were facing the window, so their faces were blasted by the glaring sun the whole time, making it extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant. My husband and I could feel the heat coming from the window on the back of our heads. It became so unbearable that they couldn’t finish their meals. I told our server about the sun, but she stated that it was a daily occurrence with this table. What made matters worse was the fact that the manager Johnny was condescending, dismissive, and rude. I got up from the table to speak to him at the host station to bring the situation to his attention. He said that he was aware of the sun. I told him that I would’ve preferred not having the glare of the sun in our faces. Then, he made a snarky comment about sitting us immediately upon arrival. I told him that it wasn’t a favor because I made a reservation far in advance, so that’s what he’s supposed to do. He simply repeated that he’s aware of the sun and would bring it up in a meeting. At no time did he offer to move us to another table, give us a discount, or provide a complimentary drink, dessert, or whatever for the inconvenience as most restaurant managers would do. He simply nodded as I spoke and kept saying, “Lo siento.” That’s a lame response and epic failure to provide a reasonable solution. Unfortunately, the restaurant automatically imposes a 18% service charge on the bill. I wouldn’t have been so generous. This was my first and last visit!

Happy hour offered amazing deals, and the atmosphere—upbeat music, sleek decor, cozy lighting—was perfect. Our server, Carlos, was a superstar, with spot-on recommendations and infectious energy. The Doral Roll was zesty and fresh, the Bob Marley Roll had smoky tropical flair, and the Sushi Pizza was a creative masterpiece. Desserts like the Oreo Roll and Coquitos Crunch were divine. Affordable, delicious, and unforgettable—ask for Carlos and visit during happy hour!
