    On a rainy Sunday evening, our visit to Springtide was slightly disappointing. The welcome was warm and friendly, but the restaurant, which is an attractive light and airy space was cold. The starter of scallops with pork belly was delicious and the highlight of the meal. The chowder main course was disappointing as, whilst it had reasonable flavour it was mostly potato and mussels with a few prawns. No other fish was included despite the menu promising this. The catch of the day - sole - was nicely cooked but the flavour was totally overwhelmed by the strong olive and tomato sauce with which it was served. Desserts of sticky toffee pudding and cherry sundae were pleasant but unremarkable. The single waitress on duty worked hard to cover all of the tables and was very friendly and helpful but could not make up for the disappointing food in a cold room.

    Thoroughly recommend, will be going again, one of the best meals we’ve ever had, and staff were amazing.

    The kids loved the new play area and made new friends while the grown ups loved the variety on the menu and the food was so yummy! The perfect afternoon ✨

    Lovely little restaurant with a lovely ambience. The food is always fresh, comes out piping hot and beautifully cooked. Great value for money. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back

    The restaurant is mostly hard surfaces, so noise levels can rise to obtrusive levels sometimes especially if families with young children are dining. Not suggesting anything other than some soft furnishings might absorb some of the excess of noise. Not at all a comment on family dining!

    We were very impressed by the quality of the main courses. We had roast dinners, burger, grilled catch of the day and the chowder- and all of those were of a very high standard. We were perhaps a little disappointed by the Turkish Delight panna cotta, but it was perfectly ok, just not as impressive as the main courses. Our waitress was delightful, and extremely efficient and helpful. We will definitely return and recommend you to others.

    One of the loveliest Sunday roasts locally and the gravy is superb. The staff are friendly and attentive - would highly recommend

    Deviated from fish for a change. The slow braised beef was delicious, hearty & plentiful. Lovely! Great staff & a nice buzzy atmosphere.
