Back in 1992, founder Geoffrey Swenson took an old concept—classic American comfort food— and paired it with old-fashioned hospitality and principles to create the first location in Burlingame.

We, at Stacks, are still working hard every day to be the very best at what we do: serving good old-fashioned American food.

We haven’t changed much through the years, providing customers with high quality ingredients, generous portions at a reasonable price and a comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere that keeps people coming back year after year.

Today, All the locations have been sold, and the Burlingame location, which has been the Flagship of all the Stacks remains as the original and still run under the direction of Geoffrey the owner and creator.

Gracious, efficient service. Delicious food. Meatloaf, pot roast, chicken pot pie and Caesar Salad were fresh, full of vegetables, plentiful and delicious. Clam chowder was very good. A good value for dinner. Recommend it for dinner.

It was a fun experience as Stacks recently opened for dinner. It was a beautiful patio area and a warm night. It had an extensive menu, but we decided on pancakes for dinner and dessert too of course.

Stacks in Burlingame has been a 30 year go to destination for Saturday morning breakfast for our family. Obviously, we love the place. Geoff, the owner, has become a friend so consider this review as biased as you would think it would be. Believe me, bias doesn't negate truth. Just look at the crowds on the weekends and you'll get a sense of just how good the food and service are. We just visited to try the new dinner menu and as usual we came away happy as clams. My pork chop was moist, tender and had a slightly smokey flavor that I just loved. My wife had the prawns and didn't leave any leftovers. Check out Stacks for breakfast, lunch and now, dinner. Oh, one last comment. Our Son rated the Crab panini a 9.7 out of 10, the highest rating of anything he's ever rated.
