Overall, my dining experience was average. I have been going to Starfish in Laguna Beach for the past 12 years, and I always order my favorite dish, the mahi-mahi hot fish. However, when my meal was served, I noticed that it didn't look like the typical mahi-mahi I expected. Despite being hungry, I continued eating, and by the end of the meal, I realized they had actually served me a different type of fish that wasn't even on the menu. The bill confirmed that what I had was hot fish—bass. It seems they must have run out of mahi-mahi and substituted it with another type of fish without informing me. I feel they should have disclosed this in advance. Additionally, the fish was chopped into very small pieces, which made it difficult to eat with chopsticks. I still like this restaurant and will, of course, visit again, but I will pay more attention to what they are serving for my mahi-mahi hot fish.

Maintaining the highest quality is our top priority, and due to recent challenges with our purveyors, we temporarily substituted Mahi Mahi with sea bass. I had the pork spring roll and shrimp lettuce wrap too much food, taking left over for dinner. Great service very nice staff looking forward to my return.

Everything was perfect. Food and drinks are always very consistent. The only thing I would definitely change is the lighting on the table when you walk in the door on the left side of the restaurant. Some type of light on each table. It was too dark. :)
