   Upscale rustic atmosphere with a beautiful bar area. Wonderful art and decor throughout. The very nice smooth jazz music fits the room perfectly and is accommodating for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience and easy conversations. Good balanced menu selection suitable for most tastes. Creative and tasteful plate combinations. All the food from appetizers to dessert was very good and the best we have found thus far in a very large greater Blue Ridge Mountain region. Manager is present and available. Our waitress Jennifer, was excellent, personable and also helpful in our dinner selections. Hostess was also pleasant and accommodating. The bar tender also did a nice job on mixology. We drove over an hour to dine at Stekoa and look forward to returning next time we are in the Clayton area.

   My daughter and a group of friends ate at Stekoa Creek before prom. They raved about the service and how their waitress was so nice and kind to them. Every need was met and their food was excellent. Not one thing was lacking from their meal. At the end of their dinner the waitress told them their meal had been paid for by the owner. This sweet group of kids night was over the top because of the generosity that was shown to them. Thank you for giving so big to the local community.

   We enjoyed a delicious brunch with friends today @ Stekoa Creek. Every item on the menu looked delicious and would have been a great choice. We have dined there for dinner but this was the first time for brunch. Service was excellent. We will look forward to returning

   I've been 3 times. First 2 times were good, but 3rd was not. The salads were very good, but it took way too LONG to get our dinner. Waitress said the kitchen is way backed up and behind. When we finally got the steaks they were TOO RARE. I kept mine because I was too hungry to return it, but my friend sent it back and it came back over cooked. Maybe they were just having a bad night. Manager was apologetic and took one of the steaks off the bill. I want this place to succeed but they need to be CONSISTENT! Fortify is currently closed, so this is the only fine dining place we have. I'll give the one more chance to work out the bugs.

   Start with the positive. The food is actually very good the only negative is the chopped salad is not chopped but it was very good. Negative on the service. Sat for 30 min with menus in hand waiter finally came and managed to break the cork on the wine we brought(called it before he started). Once we did order the food it came quick...before we finished our salad and table was so small there was not enough room for the plates.

   This was the second time to the restaurant. The mains were a little underwhelming. Great feel and the prices were a good value

   Clayton is a great little town - I wish we were here longer. Stakoa - very good fried chicken dish and well done cocktail.

   The restaurant is gorgeous. The food was excellent. The menu had something for everybody. The wait staff were wonderful. Our waitress was excellent. She just needed some fine-tuning. The dirty plates from the appetizers were still on our table when the main entrée came. And then when she brought us the dessert to share between the four of us. She did not bring a small plates, we had to ask. She also was not knowledgeable on her wines or the food on the menu, but was willing to go ask all the questions we needed answered. Will return to this restaurant next time we’re in town.

    Beautiful restaurant with local artwork and natural wood decor. Live music, great touch. Food and service were great.
