Dine from our Bistro Menu for some lovely dishes at amazing value. 2 courses for £17 or 3 for £20. It’s available from 12 until 6:30 from Monday – Thursday and before 4pm on Fridays. We’ve worked hard with our chefs to strip things back and keep things really simple. It’s good, hearty, tasty stuff served to you by a team who love what they do. And sometimes you don’t need anything more than that. Our menu changes monthly and is subject to availability, please go to our website or check social media for updates.

Sigh… We like the Sticky Walnut and have been coming here for a while but this meal was a disappointment. The good stuff first - The starter, dessert and wine were spot on. Perfect. The main… aka the supposed star of the show… very disappointing. Three small slices of lamb rump (my wife’s had a surprise bit of bone…) with a few tomatoes and some sauce. No options for any additional veg or potatoes. Pretty poor. Finally the service - This is meant to be high quality dining, the female staff were lovely but our main waiter (guy with a moustache) made no effort and basically wanted us in and out asap. Keep in mind this a £75 pp meal, before wine and tip. We felt MASSIVELY shortchanged by the experience and will be heading elsewhere next time, we’re really sorry to say…

Booked a table for 1.30pm on a Saturday. Seated on the first floor which wasn’t full. Food and service was excellent as usual.

Great evening. Our waitress was really friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Food delicious with a great range on offer.

A wonderful group dinner. The food was creative and delicious. The service was attentive and everyone had a a very nice time.

We had the January Bistro special offer lunch menu. All very tasty but fairly small portions so some sides are needed. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive.

We moved here almost six years ago and this is the nicest meal we have had in a city known for its variety of restaurants and cafes. Highly recommended.

Absolutely gorgeous! We've eaten many times at the already much-missed Burnt Truffle, Wreckfish/Wreck and Pinion, but this was our first visit here. We had Sunday dinner - one beef, one duck confit - but we both agreed that the red wine jus meant that we could have enjoyed the meal without the meat! Each came with roast potatoes, mashed root veg and kale, plus a Yorkshire Pudding with the beef. We took the wine recommendations, which complemented the meat superbly. For dessert we had parkin and set vanilla cream, both of which were superb (and taken again with the matched wines). One item of note. We arrived at 4:50, for the latest booking time at 5pm. There were no diners. Then one of the waiting staff went home. We weren't looking forward to a meal by ourselves. Thankfully eight others in three parties followed us for 5pm bookings and the small downstairs room buzzed throughout the evening.
