STIR is the perfect restaurant to sip a craft cocktail over a dozen oysters, enjoy a night out, or meet for lunch. Located in the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo complex, the restaurant is an open-air concept with a large, heated outdoor patio. We are open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

Great food starts with fresh, local ingredients. Our kitchen prepares everything from scratch, and our signature raw bar is stocked with fresh oysters and seasonal seafood.

STIR is famous for craft cocktails. We freeze and carve 300-pound blocks of artisanal ice in-house, age certain cocktails in oak barrels for richer flavors, and place others on draft for crispness and carbonation. The result: categorically elevated cocktails. Our passion for fine spirits also compels us to find and share rare bottles, many of which are extremely difficult to procure.

Our server remembered us from a couple of weeks ago and remembered exactly how and when I like my coffee! Our request for a booth was fulfilled and a private booth was waiting for us even though we arrived early. Much attention to personal service! Food all excellent and very fresh.

Not sure if it was our characteristics/appearance or what, but we arrived five minutes before our reservation and were not greeted or welcomed at all. My husband told the hostess we had a 9pm reservation and she looked at us and immediately said it’ll be 35-40 minutes without looking at the tablet in front of her. My husband said again, we have a reservation and then she said ‘name’. Had an exchange about the name and the hostess grabbed menus, walked to a table, set the menus on the table and walked away (rather than waiting for us to sit down and handing us the menus and telling us who would be serving us). Notably we were seated in what was most likely the worst seat in the room (I was seated in the corner directly under a television that someone kept coming over to mess with, which as an attorney I can say seems like a liability risk waiting to materialize). Also I made a reservation for standard (instead of high top) seating, and when we asked the waitress about that, she said we can go on the waitlist for standard seating. Food was quite bland to our liking, but the ambiance and food presentation was cool. Unfortunately, the service and experience of differential treatment presumably because we’re not characteristically like the majority of their patrons overshadowed those two positives. Disappointing but not out of line with our overall experiences in other parts of the city.

We loved out lunch at Stir today! My husband had the hamburger with the accompanying wedge salad and fries. He said that it was amazing! I had the fish tacos with the truffle fries. The tacos and fries were outstanding!!! We had the chocolate mousse with the cinnamon crisp cookies, raspberries, whipped cream and chocolate chip garnish. WOW!!! We will definitely be back to Stir for another great meal! Loved the free valet parking too.

Fabulous service and even more fabulous food! I sat outside on the patio and read a book while I dined. It was the perfect ‘solo dining’ experience.

The food was priced low in comparison to the quality. Stir has the best quality and tasteful food in Chattanooga! Delicious!!!
